Ans: Mad Chef is a famous franchise restaurant that sells burger and they try their level best to
maintain their brand reputation as a decent site for burgers. Mad Chef constantly attracts its
customers with various types of ads and promos on social media networks and communicates with its
audience as well. They create values in many ways. They communicate with their targeted audience
through Social Medias like, Facebook & Instagram. Their key social activities for their targeted
audience are:

 Firstly, Mad Chef is always connected to its loyal customers through Facebook & Instagram,
where they are posting about their new recipes and upcoming discounts.
 In the recent two years, Mad Chef had taken good care of the Covid-19 circumstances by
offering free giveaways to its customers. They also kept their outlets closed due to the
pandemic to avoid Covid-19 transmission and continued their service with home delivery
system with the help of social media.

 Mad Chef never missed out any of the major festivals like Eid or Christmas to promote their
burgers on social media. They create mouthwatering posts with the picture of their burgers
and other side menus on Facebook and Instagram to attract targeted audiences, who tend to
hang out on these occasions.
 Mad Chef is gaining knowledge about their customers’ preferences by creating poll on their
social media page; where they illustrated two variety of their fries and people are reacting on
the post (with love & care emoji) according to their choices.

 They have their attractive logo which is the big improvement that should always be told and
notified. They have carried this across all social media channels in a very enticing way.
 In a recent time, they organized a giveaway of free Spotify Premium subscription for the k-
pop based fans via Facebook & Instagram. This helped Mad Chef to gain more burger lover
customers.
 Meme is the most hyped content on Social Media nowadays and they are using it much
appropriately seizing the audiences’ attention. This strategy has helped them to gain more
meme lovers come burger lovers.

 The moment Mad Chef posts on Facebook about their new content, people also start to
share and comment on the post. Mad Chef reviews every feedback and responds
particularly to the negative comments in order to resolve their imperfections. This helps
Mad Chef to create bench mark in the market as well.
 Mad Chef also uses Facebook features much efficiently in order to gain more customers.
Their current customers share food pictures on facebook and instagram purchased from
Mad Chef, tagging them on their post, which redirects the new audience to their online
social media page.
 In their recent social media post, Mad Chef reveals that they are opening after the
lockdown maintaining all the safety measurements that are instructed by the government.
This is a very important notice which is delivered to people through social media.

 One of the most recent contents shared by Mad Chef on social media has attracted many
audiences as they used a very famous online Netflix series picture mentioning that they
are open again for DINE-IN with the Covid-19 protocol and 50% capacity. Here, the
picture has been used only for grabbing the audiences’ attention. However, in the caption
they mentioned that the series F.R.I.E.N.D.S is not back, but they want their customers to
tag their (customers’) friends and meet them at Mad Chef.

So, considering all the points mentioned above, I think Mad Chef has communicated their
contents very well with their customers. They created their contents in a concise way and made
the captions very specific and informative. They got involved with the customers through their
contents and stayed until their customers are satisfied. They proactively communicate with their
customers and responds to customers’ inquiries via social media messaging apps like Facebook
Messenger or Instagram Messaging system. In the recent two years, Mad Chef has worked on
their Facebook page and designed it in a commercial way where people can easily find any items
along with the price mentioned that they want to purchase from Mad Chef. Hence, Mad Chef is
following all the communication strategies for social media.

Answer: Digital media such as mobile devices are the core elements of communicating everywhere,
weather in personal or professional life. Content creator or content designers need to know how to
deliver their contents to their audiences using these digital media like mobile or smart-phones. Some
options for optimizing contents for mobile phones are discussed below:

 Location-based services: Location-based services use GPS technology on a smart-phone


to monitor a user's location if that person has agreed to it. After a mobile user opts in, the
service will pinpoint their exact location down to a physical address, eliminating the need
for manual data entry. Nowadays, restaurants use GPS service of Google to get featured
to the audience. Besides, people can easily find any hospitals, ATM booths, banks, or
shops through their mobile devices.

For example, I have opened a Fast food restaurant which is located in Dhanmondi area.
If I use location-based service for my restaurant, then my audiences who leave around
Dhanmondi can easily find my restaurant in nearby places.

 Gamification: This is one of the trendy optimizing methods for any organization. The
implementation of digital games and game standards in non-game contexts is known as
gamification. It can also be described as a collection of activities and processes used to
solve problems by using or applying game element characteristics. The business
organizations are using these mechanism of games and applying it to real life
communication.

For example, if we take a look on “Food Panda”, we’ll see that they are using this kind
of mechanisms where if a customer place order from chosen restaurants then the
customer will get 250 points and can win up to 50 taka discount. After that, if that
customer completes another mission by ordering from another restaurant then he or she
will get 450 points and can win up to 120 taka discount on the next order within a given
time. They attracted this game by the headline “Complete your challenges to earn badges
and unlock your panda box”.

 Augmented Reality: Augmented Reality (AR) is basically incorporating the reality into
the game. Its strategies redesign the company's showcase and improve the consumer
experience on the basis of practical analyzes. This mobile optimization feature is quite
rare in Bangladesh because it requires the top notch technology system in order to
enhance customer experience.

For example, I own a “Watch store” where I sell watches of different brands. If I include
this augmented reality feature in my watch store mobile app, then the customers will be
able to get a virtual experience of their desired watches by pointing their camera on their
hand.
 Wearable Technology: Wearable technologies are the technologies that are intended to
wear for everyday use. Smart watches, smart glasses are the core technologies that are
being worn by people.

 Mobile blogging: Mobile blogging is a way of posting write-ups on a website or blog


with mobile or any portable devices. These blogs are quite hyped on social media
networks nowadays.

For example, many restaurants in Bangladesh are hiring food bloggers in order to
promote their business. This is the way of communicating with the food lovers through
mobile bloggers. People get to know about the quality of foods of these restaurants from
their blogs

 Mobile podcasting: Mobile Podcaster provides the ability for you to work from
anywhere – no costly recording equipment or device required once it has been
configured. Mobile Podcaster saves you the time because you don't have to manually
switch podcast records and create a new blog post for every episode. Podcasts are now
used by professionals in each business sector to communicate with a broader population.
Mobile podcasting apps help to grow with the unique audio contents created by the
organization.

For example, by the use of mobile podcasting, any business organization can easily
create audio clips for their advertisements and upload it on different software apps like
Apple podcasts (e.g. itunes), Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher and etc. for
communicating with their customers.

 Cloud-based services: Cloud-based services include information technology (IT) with


on-demand distribution and usage-based payment. Cloud based services provide
comprehensive apps and development tools, servers, storage systems and mobile
desktops. There are some giant companies that sell cloud-based services in Bangladesh,
such as Azure, AWS, Oracle, and Google cloud services.

For example, a well known startup in Bangladesh called as “10 minutes school” uses this
Cloud based service in order to store and share their data with their audiences. It’s a
virtual cloud, where business organizations can store their valuable data and share the
desired data with the audience on cloud system.

Most of the brands are using these mobile optimizing options for branding their
businesses. These mobile optimizing tools are of great use for concise communication.
Almost every successful companies in Bangladesh are now using them to stay connected
with their audiences and operating business activities with the advantages they get from
these tools.
