ACTIVITY 6 LIFE AND WORKS RIZAL

Name: Jennilyn Apas Pasia Year & Section: BSES III LWR-F2
Reflect:
What are your most memorable childhood experience that taught you valuable lessons
in life? Briefly describe these experiences and write down the lessons learned from
1. When I was 12 years old, I moved to Pasay City and had no friends because I
was a newbie from Mindanao. I had several experiences of bullying, I’m not the
bully one but the victim. They always called me, “Probinsyana”, “pobre” and
“instik” because I came from Mindanao and my appearance. I believed being
weak was one of my many faults for being bullied and being a complete
embarrassment during my grade school years. My shyness is unbearable. I can't
just talk to people like that. I lost confidence in myself. My knees and hands
shake when I stand in front of the class, and my eyes tear up when I begin to
speak. And I'm a wimp when it comes to conflict; I'm a cry baby. As a result, I
became particularly prone to teases and emotional manipulators. But when I
grow older I realized that it can make you feel inferior if you exhibit your
vulnerability to others. Your vulnerability can be used against you, and if you put
yourself in a situation where you appear weak and unmanageable, those who
trust you will lose faith in your capabilities. Yes, I’m a little and conscious about
myself sometimes but I know how to fight back when someone wronged me. The
lesson I learned from my experience is that we must always convince ourselves
that we can do it, that we’re not a loser, we have to fight with good moral values.
2. I remember too when I was 8 years old, me and my brother always fighting over
toys. My mom bought us toys, one for me and my brother but I’m always jealous
to my brother, I don’t know either lol. I'm taking my brother's toy because I want it
too but Mom scold me and said, “Be contented what you have, don’t be greedy.”
We aren’t rich but everything we needed and those little things that we also want
[sometimes], were fairly met by our mom and dad. I realized that we have to be
happy with the little things that we have- to focus on the things that they are
already blessed with and not to focus on what others have.
