JD – II Father Saturnino Urios University

February 22, 2021

The best mode for integration of CLEP in Father Saturnino Urios University’s law school
curriculum would be what it currently is adopting, which is the Course-based Integration.
Father Saturnino Urios University already has a CLEP, namely the Urian Legal
Assistance Program (ULAP), which is embodied in our existing subjects such as Legal
Research, Legal Writing, Legal Ethics, Natural Resources and Environmental Law,
Alternative Dispute Resolution, Problem Areas in Legal Ethics, and Practice Courts I
and II.

However, should our school take into account the possibility of changing the current
mode of integration of CLEP, I would like to recommend a Stand Alone Course Offering.
Although there is much to put into consideration such as the resources which the school
is able to provide, on the part where it improves students to become practice ready
lawyers, I think it can help students the most in refreshing the previous subjects they
have already undergone by using their knowledge in the CLEP subjects being offered. It
also helps that these subjects are given on a per year basis so as not to incorporate it in
one go by recalling the entire learnings in one semester, and instead, to aid students by
revisiting it and inscribing it once more through the CLEP subjects.
