Version
The following provides the board(s) supported by the OSN device. However, the availability
of the board(s) is subject to PCNs. For PCN information, contact the product manager at your
local Huawei office.
Table 20-1 describes the version mapping of the DFIU board.
The system provides four types of the DFIU board,Table 20-2 lists the types of the DFIU
board.
20.1.2 Application
As a type of optical multiplexing and demultiplexing unit, The DFIU board multiplexes and
demultiplexes signals in two directions transmitted along the main path and optical
supervisory channel.
For the position of the DFIU board in the WDM system, see Figure 20-1.
NOTE
In this scenario,If the type of the DFIU board is DFIU01 or DFIU03, In the figure, the two DFIU boards
actually refer to one physical board. otherwise, the two DFIU boards refer to two physical board.
Basic functions The FIU subboard is mountable. The single-subboard and dual-
subboard are available.
It multiplexes or demultiplexes main optical path signals and the
optical supervisory channel (OSC) signals.
NOTE
Subcards of different types cannot be installed together on the same board.
To be specific, the subcards of the TNF1DFIU01 and TNF1DFIU02 boards
cannot be installed on the same board as the subcards of the TNF1DFIU03
and TNF1DFIU04 boards.
Line fiber quality The line fiber quality monitoring function can be used on the NMS,
monitoring function and the NMS will display monitoring figures and data. For details,
see the Fiber Doctor System in the Feature Description.
The Fiber Doctor Management System Software Fee License
needs to be purchased for this function.
NOTE
This function is only supported when the TNF1DFIU03/TNF1DFIU04
connect with AST4.
NOTE
The FIU subboards have the same silkscreen. The backplane has east and west silkscreens (E and W) to
indicate the signal flow direction of the FIU subboards.
Signal Flow
l The optical multiplexing module multiplexes the main optical path signals received
through the RC optical port and the optical supervisory channel (OSC) signals received
through the RM optical port into one channel of optical signals. Then, the one channel of
signals is output through the OUT optical port.
l The IN optical port receives line optical signals and sends them to the optical
demultiplexing module. The module demultiplexes the line optical signals into main
optical path signals and OSC signals, and outputs them through the TC and TM optical
ports, respectively.
Module Function
l FIU subboard
Multiplexes and demultiplexes main optical path signals and OSC signals.
l Communication module
Communicates with the system control and communication board.
NOTE
Subcards of different types cannot be installed together on the same board. To be specific, the subcards of the
TNF1DFIU01 and TNF1DFIU02 boards cannot be installed on the same board as the subcards of the
TNF1DFIU03 and TNF1DFIU04 boards.
If a board has only one subcard, a filler panel must be installed in the vacant slot. Ensure that the subcard is
installed in right slot and the filler panel is installed in the left slot.
On the mother board, silkscreens W and E represent the westbound subcard and eastbound subcard
respectively.
Indicators
The FIU board does not have indicators on its front panel.
Ports
Table 20-4 lists the type and function of each port.
