LABORATORY

DIGITAL LABORATORY

The Digital Laboratory of the College of Engineering and Architecture is the main
laboratory that is used for computer and electronics engineering major and elective
courses. The laboratory facility carries all basic to advance components needed to
understand underlying founding laws of electrical and electronics theories. Additionally,
the laboratory is equipped with passive and active components including circuit
simulator, function generators, oscilloscopes, AC/DC power supplies, multi-meters.
Furthermore, the laboratory is well invested on acquiring a variety of newly advance
training electronic/electrical that helps build solid practical foundation towards various
degree programs. A multimedia projector and a sixty inches LCD TV are installed on the
laboratory to support learning discussions.

DSP LABORATORY

The Digital Signal Processing laboratory was donated by the Texas Instruments
Phil. on August 18, 2006. The laboratory primary goal is to provide training and
development to faculty and students through education and research in digital
processing solutions. Built on the signals and systems fundamentals, mainly focuses on
the learning of design, analysis and synthesis of various real time digital signals and
systems employing different computational algorithms. Students learn the design flow
from theory to software or hardware implementation and acquire practical knowledge by
analyzing signals, with examples from the real world. In the DSP laboratory, students
also get the opportunity to learn major courses such as Microprocessor System,
Embedded System, hardware description language (HDL) and other related subjects.
Moreover, activities are performed using mathematical and graphical software such as
MULTISIM and MATLAB. A multimedia projector is also installed on the laboratory to
aid instructor and students in laboratory discussions.
AUF SWEEP LABORATORY

The AUF Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP) Laboratory

aims to raise the level of technology and engineering education, particularly in the field
of Electronics and Communications Engineering. Inaugurated in August 10, 2011, it is
part of the industry-academe partnership launched by Smart Communications.

The SWEEP laboratory is also used by research students and faculty members
to access the internet for online literature review, email, word processing, spreadsheet
calculations and process simulation using computer software. The facility is also
convenient for thesis mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as
holding small group meetings related to research work.

ITTC LABORATORY

The Information technology training center building is equipped with PC and Mac
under five Computer laboratories to ensure extensive hands-on training for maximum
learning. The System unit’s specification would be essential for students especially in
doing programming and database in different languages, and for multimedia
applications.

Aside from being used for both basic and professional computer courses, the
laboratories are also utilized for special training modules.

AUF CISCO LABORATORY

The CISCO Laboratory offers high-end nine Cisco 1941 routers and nine 2800
series Cisco switches for students to gain hands-on experience on networking devices.
The laboratory provides the networking tools and software needed for Cisco accredited
modules in preparation for first level professional industry networking certifications.
AUF RADIO STATION

DWAU 104.1 FM is the educational and non-commercial radio station of Angeles

University Foundation that operates from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It
operates on a frequency of 104.1 MHz on the FM band, with a 10-watt transmitter.

Blessed and inaugurated on August 11, 2004, DWAU 104.1 FM is specified to

teach people about important issues like education, politics, health, and the like.

DWAU is also a training laboratory for AB Communication and BS Electronics

Engineering students. ECE students taking up Principles of Communication and ECE
Elective 4 (Broadcast and Acoustic) use the equipment of the radio station to have a
hands-on experience in the field of radio broadcasting.

COMMUNICATIONS LABORATORY

The Communications Laboratory is equipped with Anshuman Antenna System

Trainer which provides students and faculty access to a variety of antennas, RF power
meter, RF signal generator, and to a PC based graph utility software. The Laboratory
provide students with enough study spaces to learn techniques in measuring antenna
parameters and its characteristics as well as arrays of antennas.

MAJOR EQUIPMENT

ENERGY CONVERSION TRAINER

The Energy Conversion Trainer provides students and faculty access to different
types of DC and AC motors, DC and AC meters, and different types of loads (resistive,
capacitive, and inductive) to understand how electrical energy is converted to
mechanical energy and vice versa.
SOLAR TECHNOLOGY TRAINER

The Anshuman Solar Technology Trainer provides students and faculty access
to solar cell experiment panel, SCR based AC controller, MPPT (maximum power point
trackers) solar charge controllers, loads (lamp and rheostat), AC and DC meters
(voltage and current) to understand how solar photovoltaic system works and
understand how light energy is converted to electrical energy.

ANALOG AND DIGITAL TRAINER

-is a single Board Trainer Kit which is widely used to train computer engineering
students to study hardware for any Digital / Analog components in the laboratory. This
board has the provision for bread board which facilitates experimenting the Digital /
Analog component Circuits. It is a time and cost saving device for both students and
researcher interested in training, developing and testing circuit prototypes
