Position : Senior Buyer
- Extensive knowledge in domestic and international buying practices. Was a S
r. Buyer for over 16 years. Main responsibility was new product development a
nd sourcing. Executed this task effectively helping company grow its tools and
equipment catalog division, E-commerce and chain of retail tool stores from 26-
330 stores. In-depth experience in product cost analyses.
- Directly responsible for generating over 50 million USD in annual sales of new
items. In-depth knowledge and experience in power tools, general merchandise
, automotive, lawn and garden, shop equipment and hand tools.
- Solicit requests/bid s from different vendors. Requests samples for quality e
valuation. Forecast quantity purchase based on historical data and current ma
rket condition. Report recommendations to Executive Vice President for Merchan
dising for final approval and execution.
- Vast experience in China sourcing and has developed vendor relationship and ne
tworking that also helped company saved hundreds of thousands of dollars as a re
sult of favourable cost renegotiation based on volume and program success.
- Analyzed performance of suppliers and react to inconsistencies that may requi
re immediate action. This include visiting factories twice a year evaluate fa
ctorys capabilities and quality control, management and ability to deliver per p
urchase order. Reviewed and followed-up product shipments and deliveries and ex
pedite as necessary.
- Interface with QA Dept. to resolve quality issues, parts requirements and des
ign changes to better serve market and fulfill customer service.
- Assisted support departments on marketing, print advertisements, packaging by
providing product features and applications. Prepared purchase orders, re-orde
r based on inventory and forecast, reviewed proforma invoice.
- Attended International Exhibits and Shows the last 16 years in conjunction wit
h factory visits. Participated in major domestic shows to source new product,
study market development and product trending.
- Ability to operate in a fast paced environment, requires little supervision an
d handled multiple projects simultaneously.
- Supervised 3 Assistant Buyers and helped Buyers in daily business operations a
