Eliana Montalvo

Strengths, Interests, Developmental Next Steps

Eliana’s strengths include being observant and independent and her kindness towards others. Her
interests include participating in dramatic play and colors.

Her developmental next steps may include:

1. Recognizing letters of the alphabet
2. Attention span in activities
Over the course of the semester, teachers observed Eliana’s development in each developmental
domain. Some of our observation notes are recorded below. A summary description of her
preschool experiences is found at the end of this report.
Physical Domain
In the sensory table, Eliana worked with a funnel that had a tube attached. She used her motor
skills to move the water back and forth through the tube by raising one end higher than the other.

Eliana was able to zip her coat by herself without any help before we went to play outside.

Language & Literacy Domain

Eliana was playing with a doll in the dramatic play area. “My baby’s name is Sola. What’s
your baby’s name? What’s Miss Lexie’s baby’s name?”(10/20/2021)
Eliana and J poured each other’s drinks at the snack table today. They both exchanged “thank
you” and “you’re welcome” multiple times at the correct spot in the conversation. (10/27/2021)

Cognitive Domain
Eliana is very independent on what she does and likes to learn from others. Miss Nahomy
explained how to open the cheez-it package. She used both of her hands and said after she
opened it, “I can do it myself!” (10/11/2021)
Eliana named the colors green, blue, brown, pink, and purple as she explored the dot markers in
the art area. As she dabbed ink from the pink marker onto her paper, she said, “This is kind of
red.” Later she stated, “I’m covering up a star” as she dabbed marker onto a stamped star.

Social & Emotional Domain

Eliana requested help from Miss Mia to replace her mask. When it came off again, she said, “It
came off again!” and then she attempted to put it on by herself. (10/4/2021)
Eliana and another child understood the concept of night and day. In the tent in dramatic play,
they worked together to decide whether it was night or day. If it was nighttime, they both went to
sleep. If it was day, they got up, made their beds, and started cooking. (10/18/2021).
Eliana poured water for other child at the snack table when he asked for water. The child said,
“Thank you, Eliana.” (12/1/2021)

Summary Description
During our time in preschool, we were able to see Eliana develop, particularly in the social and
emotional domain by helping, sharing, and supporting others with small actions. We are grateful
for the opportunity to be Eliana’s teachers this semester.

Sincerely,
Miss Nahomy
