INTRODUCTION
▪ The relationship between a teacher and
his students is one of the most influential
factors in a learning environment. Positive
and supportive relationships between
students and teacher ultimately increase an
intelligence of belonging and motivate
students to willingly take part in different
classroom activities.

▪ A healthy and positive relationship
between students and teachers can be
enormously favourable at all stages of an
educational institution, inside the classroom
and across the whole school environment. A
positive relationship between continues to
develop, its benefits not only teachers and
students but also parents and administrators
as well.
▪ The presence of positive and
supportive relationships alone does not get
an academic success, but students that
create a strong bond with their teacher do
perform better than students whose
behaviour with their teachers have some
conflict.
▪ Positive teacher-student
relationships are beneficial for students,
especially for those students with
learning difficulties and with low
economic status.
▪ One primary benefit of a healthy
student-teacher relationship is that
the teachers work to improve their
interpersonal and professional skills.
MAINTAIN GOOD STUDENT TEACHER

some quick and easy ways to maintain good student teacher
relations:
▪ The teacher must get to know the students by name as quickly as
possible.
▪ The teacher must get to know some personal things about each student.
▪ The teacher must conduct a values analysis discussion about some
current event or topic
▪ Try and have a one on one conversation with every student at least
once a month
▪ The teacher must get to know the students’ goals and aims
▪ The teacher must be positive and enthusiastic when teaching.

▪ The teacher must always try to counsel and give suggestions
to students whenever required
▪ The teacher must avoid the use of threats and punishment

▪ The teacher must show students that he/she is available for
them whenever there is any need.

▪ One of the greatest issues facing teacher-student relationships
is that many children aren’t going to class. Chronic
absenteeism, or missing at least 15 days per school year, is
increasingly common among students and comes with
worrisome results.
▪Children from low-income or under-resourced
backgrounds are most likely to have poor relationships
with their teachers.
▪ Students whose previous teacher treated them unfairly
as well as children from abusive or neglectful homes.
▪Behavioral or learning disorders can make it hard for

▪ Having a healthy student-teacher relationship is essential
to maintain a positive environment in the classroom. This
environment helps students develop social and emotional
behaviors to cope with different situations they will face in
the later stages of life. It will also help a student to stay
motivated to come to school and engage in learning
activities. A healthy teacher and student relationship can
have an overall positive effect on the academics of the
school.
CONCLUSION
▪ State standards and test scores are important, but
we can’t forget the necessity of positive student-
teacher relationships.
▪ When students don’t feel comfortable or cared for
in the classroom, learning becomes difficult. On the
other hand, if a student feels connected to their
teacher, they’re likely to flourish
