TOURNAMENT RULES
a) All standard “Badminton” rules, regulations and disciplines should be
followed throughout the Tournament and any form of complaint shall be
ruled/ decided by the Tournament Referee and/or Technical Committee.
b) Tournament Committee has the right to take final decision regarding the
grading of players during any time of the tournament.
c) The participation in more than one category will be entertained based on
the entries in each category and committee reserves the right to cancel
double entries based on the need
d) Tournament consists of two stages which includes the round of robin and
the teams advancing will enter the elimination round
e) In all the matches the match umpire’s decision is final and non-
challengeable.
f) tournament committee reserve the right to change the format of the
tournament, if any time constrains arise
g) Tournament committee reserve the right to review the player category
registered in and have the authority for approval or rejection.

SCORE SYSTEM

a) For all categories, the first stage, prequarter and qarter final matches are
fixed with a single set of 30 points and the team who reach 30 points first
shall win the match.
b) For all categories, semi-final matches consists of The Best of three games
of 21 points. The first team to score 21 points shall win that game
c) For all categories, in finals, matches consists of The Best of three games
of 21 points. At 20 all, the side which gains a two points lead first shall win
that game. At 29-all, the side scoring the 30th point shall win that game.
d) The tournament committee reserve the right to make any amendments
to the scoring system at any point of the tournament if it sees fit.

TEAM ADVANCEMENT

Teams will be ranked based upon the count of match wins.

Group Tie Breaks are in the below order:

• Win vs Tied Participants: The teams This tie break looks at the match
record between tied participants.
• Points Scored: The total number of points a participant scored throughout
the first stage of tournament.
• In Case of further tie, a draw shall be conducted to select the players to
advance to the next stage (subject to change if the tournament
committee sees fit.)

TOSS

A toss shall be conducted before a game starts. The winning team shall exercise
one of the following:

a) To Serve or Receive first.

b) To start play at one end of the court or the other

The side losing the toss shall exercise the remaining choice

CHANGE OF ENDS

• In a match of 30 Points, players shall change ends when a side first

scores 15.
• In a match of The best of three games, players shall change ends at the
end of the first game, at the end of the second game( if there is to be a
third game) and in the third game when a side first scores 11.
• If the ends are not changed as indicated, it shall be done as soon as the
mistake is discovered and when the shuttle is in play. The existing score
shall stand.

If a service court error is discovered, the error shall be corrected, and the
existing score shall stand.

If in play the shuttle is hit on the roof of the court, the opponent team shall
score a point.
