What does this app do?

This app aims to assist when identifying which one is the right side of the market in which to trade:
long, or short, or simply doing nothing and avoiding trading.

The above concept is the reason for the name of this indicator: “Climate”, as this word defines the
current market environment and therefore helps when planning a new trade to be executed.

The desired trade duration (position, swing or intraday trades) would depend on the time interval
(time-frame) selected when applying the indicator. A common practice in the industry consists of
assessing the current market environment (climate) by using a larger time-frame and plan specific
trades using lower time-frames to reduce the dollar-risk of the trade. Ultimately, this type of process
and decisions correspond to the user of this app.

ATR Spread
The size of the “ATR Spread” vertical line represents the distance from the current price on the chart
to an averag e “ideal” trading price. The distance is measured in multiples of a standard ATR
(Average True Range) calculation applied to the current time-frame.
When the line is above the dot it means that the price of that market is at a certain distance away
from the “ideal” average price and moving in the expected direction defined by the dot colour (ruby
is down, sapphire is up).
When the line is below the dot and becomes gray colour, it means that the market is no longer
moving in the expected direction and that the “ideal” average price has been exceeded.

Stats
The app displays 4 digits with relavant information which depends on the amount of data loaded on
the chart:

Accessing the Settings Menu and Calibrating the app

Calibration is a key process in defining how the analysis is carried out and will impact the potential
results obtained by the user using this app. The calibration input is down to the user’s personal
judgement and is at their own risk.

Calibrating the app is done by changing the user inputs.

Examples on how to use this app?

The following examples describe two different ways on how a trader, investor or a hedger could use
this app. There probably are many other ways to make this app useful and we would love to receive
your suggestions and know more about your experiences as well. Please treat the following
examples for demonstration purposes and feel free to use reach@tradewithufos.com to connect
with us and share your experiences and ideas.

In the following two examples we will look at profiting from a rising market as well as from a falling
market by following a simple 2-step method:

1) The first step would take us to check the Market Climate to understand if it is time to buy
and go long, or if it is time to sell and go short. We will use AutoClimate™ to do so…

2) The second step would have us use an additional app to add precision when deciding on a
specific buying price to Go Long from, and to decide on a specific selling price to Go Short
from. In this case we will use AutoUFOs™…

Note: Even though the following examples are using the weekly and the daily time-frames, the same
process could certainly be applied to any other time-frame including intraday time-frames…

Going Long (by Buying Low and Selling High in order to profit from a rising market)
Step 1: When looking at the weekly time-frame of Apple Inc (AAPL), it is clear that the Market
Climate is confirmed and Up with a statistical duration of 8.35 weekly bars. Since the current bar is
only the 4th, we still have room for a 4.35 week trade and therefore the light is green to Going Long…

Step 2: We are using the AutoUFOs™ app to determine when to buy. The emerald box bel ow
represents the right price where to buy AAPL which is around $200/share.

End Result: The trade ended up working well as AAPL moved up nicely within a clear Market Climate
and with a precisely defined entry point.

Going Short (by Selling High and Buying Low in order to profit from a falling market)
Step 1: When looking at the weekly time-frame of Baidu Inc (BIDU), it is clear that the Market
Climate is confirmed and Down with a statistical duration of 6.36 weeks. Since the current bar is only
the 3rd, we still have room for a 3.36 week trade and therefore the light is green to Going Short.

Step 2: We are using the AutoUFOs™ app to determine when to sell short. The ruby box below
represents the right price where to sell BIDU which is around $155/share.

End Result: The trade ended up working well as BIDU moved down nicely within a clear Market
Climate and with a precisely defined entry point.
