What is HRMS?

An HRMS or Human Resources Management System is a computerized system that


accomplishes two very important purposes. First, it allows the keeping of personnel data in a
form that can be easily accessed and analyzed. In that respect it functions as a means of
collecting and organizing data about one's staff that can be used as input into the HR planning
function.

Second, it allows to the use of that data to fulfill the various functions usually associated with a
human resources department. The human resources management software typically will help
administer and record personnel functions through the use of various software modules. A major
strength of HRMS is that it is comprehensive and can handle information and HR processes for
almost every possible organizational function, and that it's integrated and accessible through a
common computer interface. Integration allows exceedingly sophisticated data management and
reporting.

o Payroll module
o Recruitment, selection and applicant database module
o Benefits administration module
o Training and staff development module
o Performance Management, appraisal and performance planning
Background of Project
The objective of the project is to have understood the significant of HRMS application and
benefits in managing workforce for business competitiveness. The project demonstrate the
students’

- understanding of the benefits of HRMS and its contributions for organizational objectives
- learning the issues involved in planning, designing and implementation of HRMS
- understanding the users and organizational needs, and evaluating a HRMS software
package suitable for the firm understudy
- Familiarizing with types of HRMS currently available in the market.

Demonstrate from the case study on how they apply analytical and diagnostic skills to
address HR issues and challenges that trigger the proposal of HRMS proposal.
