Bernardo Figueiredo, the author of this article, argues that besides all the
things young generations learn from their older ones is how to stand independently in a conform
society. Likewise, younger people are learning from their elder ones, the elder ones are also
learning something from their youngest people is the use of technology. We are living in the 21st
century which is also referred to as modern time compass. This century is leaded by the younger
generation because they are practicing the rules of modern era and they are totally different from
their ancestors. Older people are generally believed to have better experiences and practical
views about life than the young generation. Furthermore, I disagree with the view that young
people have nothing to learn from them. The older people are much experienced as they have
been practicing all the manners from centuries. They know how to live in the era where they
have to perform their roles on society. Young people represent an important human resource
within society since they act like agents of social change, economic development and progress.
From my experience, I can see that older people have a better experience and they can advise
what the correct things to do are. In certain sectors, like research, teaching, banking etc. they are
performing far better than young employees. The older people are the ones who have been facing
all the hurdles in their life and they want their younger ones to be prepared for that particular
phase.
