Dear Mr. Smith,

My name is Andrew Armendariz, I am currently seventeen years old, a student that has a 3.7
GPA average at the moment. I am in need of this job because it looks like a great environment
to prosper and work. I am good with stocking, but I am really good with customers and satisfying
their needs. I found this great opportunity through an ad, and saw a great opportunity to apply. I
enjoy Target’s environment and have been going there many times. I enjoy the visual view of the
store, and I have always had positive experiences with the staff. I hope to be included and make
sure everyone is treated right.

My previous work experience includes a Jack in the Box and a cleaning company, I worked as a
cashier and a cook. I usually would stock, cook effectively and efficiently, work with customers at
the cash register by taking their orders enthusiastically. When I was working at a cleaning
company, I would collect and dispose of garbage. I would also broom and mop if necessary.

1. I have always had positive experiences with customers, trying to understand their
problems, and if I had something wrong, I would try to make it up to them with a sincere
apology and have them heard and validated.
2. I have had a good relationship with my co-workers. My previous job had a wonderful
manager and amazing co-workers that are uplifting.
3. I have used my creativity and energy to ensure that I would always be on target with my
orders, and was reliable when orders came in.

I love the fact that Target has many choices at such low prices. That is really attractive not just
as a customer, but as a worker. Target’s stock price is going up lately as well, which means
business is good, but it can be better. I know I can achieve so much as an employee, get along
with everyone, help people, stock, clean. I can fit in by doing what I do best, by helping out as
much as I can. I know I am just one guy, but one guy can truly make an efficient change to the
environment. I hope to help not just the customers, but also my co-workers by having a good
professional working strategy, but also as a friend.
