any poet we have
discussed in this unit that
has captured your interest and
write a 2-3 page paper about
whom the poet is and what major
themes they addressed in their
works
Choose any of the poems
we have discussed in class
and, using the style of the
poem you selected, write your
own poem. Be sure to consider
the symbolism, rhyme scheme,
and imagery of the original
poem and see how you can
incorporate those elements into
your own poem.

two different authors, and you
must include at least five
similarities and differences in each

understanding of Double
Consciousness, write a 2-page paper
about a time when you experienced
or had to use double consciousness.
Watch the TedTalk of James
Baldwin (about 5 mins) and then
write a two-paragraph summary
(3-5sentances per paragraph) about
what you learned about Baldwin’s life
and his contributions to the world of
literature.
Collaborate with one other
student to create a bubble
map on Popplet that compares
three separate authors. Be sure
to include themes, form,
imagery, and historical
significance in your
comparisons.
