OBJECTIVE
JOB SATISFACTION is an individual’s general attitude towards his or her job.
Job satisfaction is a Positive feeling about one’s job resulting from an
evaluation of its characteristics. It is a hybrid concept that has attracted
contributions from a no of related disciplinary perspective mainly esteemed from
psychology …there two types of job satisfaction which are based on the level of
employees' feelings regarding their jobs. The first, and most studied, is global job
satisfaction, which refers to employees' overall feelings about their jobs the second
is job facet satisfaction, which refers to feelings about specific job aspects, such as
salary, benefits, and the quality of relationships with one's co-workers.
The key elements of jobs are identified. For e.g. supervision, nature of work,
pay, promotion, opportunities etc.
The employee is then asked to rate his feelings for each of the job elements
on a standardized scale.
The researchers then add up the ratings on each of the facets to obtain the
overall job satisfaction score.
Summation score method helps the managers identify the factors with which
employees are dissatisfied so that they can take quick corrective actions.
