By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:-

Name the days of the week.

SUCCESS CRITERIA Name the days of the week at least 3 words correctly and 2 simple sentences with guidance.

DIFFERENTIATION STRATEGIES Strategy 1 : Differentiate by the task pupils are given

Pre-lesson
1. Point to the top of the board where teacher write the day and the date .
2. Elicit what day is today , e.g : It’s Monday.
3. Try to elicit the other days of the week.
4. Elicit which day is the pupils’ favourite .

Lesson delivery
2. Hold up each flashcards in turn and in sequence. Say the word for pupils to repeat in chorus .
3. Do this 3 or 4 times.
LEARNING OUTLINES
4. Hold up each flashcard for pupils to say the word in chorus.
5. Write Days of the week in the middle of the board and stick the flashcards around it to make a
word map.
6. Pupils look at the picture in their SB page 58.
7. Elicit what they have got on Saturday and Sunday. Check Understanding of vocabulary .
8. Play the recording .Pupils point to the days when they hear them.

Post lesson
9. Task 3 : Guess the word .

Pre-lesson
1. Pupils sit in circle to introduce themselves ‘My name’s Amir.’
2. Introduce his/her name’s Nurul/Abdul. Pupils introduce themselves and the pupil to their right/left in the circle.
3. Play memory game in the circle to remember names.

Lesson delivery
4. Introduce/review adjectives (p5) using flashcards, drawings and/or pupils as examples if appropriate.
ACTIVITIES 5. Follow with Student’s Book p5 Vocabulary and Activity 1. See Teacher’s Book p.18: Vocabulary, Activity 1, TPR Activity.
6. Monitor pupils carefully as they listen to the song to evaluate their vocabulary and listening skills. Review vocabulary next lesson as
necessary.

Post-lesson
7. Use flashcards in a whole class game to go over the adjectives again. You could choose an appropriate post-lesson activity from
the list in the introduction that suits your pupils’ needs and interests and that will review the main areas covered in the lesson
