Learning Reflection:

- Write your own concept of 21st century skills in each of the rainbow lines depicted by the
categories. Then, write your explanation in not more than 100 words to indicate your clear
understanding of this topic. Make your own rainbow with 4 lines (1) life and career skills,
(2) information, media and technology skills, (3) learning skills and (4) 21st century skills
categories)

My own concept of 21st century skills starts from having a perseverance attitude that tend
to bear burden in life and career obstacles. As goal-oriented person, you should be able to defy
sometimes your immature attitude towards negative circumstances and able to breakthrough
during hard times. When it comes to media and technology, you should keep yourself always
updated to the latest innovation of technology and aware of the events and issues that happening
across the society. You should also aware of your own mental health as well as your spiritual life
because it contributes a great role on how you keep moving forward and obtain such positivity in
life. And lastly, learning from failures and knowing your own strengths and weaknesses pays a
great significant in improving yourself and developing one’s character.

Analysis: How can 21st century skills prepare students to enter workforce and higher
education?

21st century skills can unlock the student’s full potential and can use different ways in
solving complex problems with just a simple idea that comes from proper coordination and
communication towards teammates/classmates. By teaching a variety of skill to the students, it
can draw their inner capacity that will be eventually useful someday. And most of all, by simply
applying these skills to the real world as a student would be a great help to equipped them to
enter workforce and higher education someday.

Implication: Why do you think professional development on teaching 21 st century skills is


needed by teachers in the field?

As the world continue to improve its technology and economic industry, a lot of company
and government institutions specially the education system requires employees to cope up to the
present improvement and certain difficulties. Teachers as a perfect example, requires to be well-
educated and oriented to latest 21st century skills since the world is continually improving, they
also need to improve its teaching so that they can impart knowledge and skills to the students
with ease and efficiently. Possessing 21st century skills in the teacher unlocks the fullest capacity
of the teacher and can use different ways of teaching base on the environment and student’s
diversity.
