BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN AT OLYMPIA, PENANG CAMPUS

A Blood Donation Campaign was organized by Olympia College, Penang recently at the 28 th floor of
Northam Tower, Penang. The event marks the college’s effort in carrying out benevolent activities by
helping the National Blood Bank to replenish supplies to help save lives.

Principal of Penang campus, Puan Nooraini Youp said “Apart from aspiring to increase the blood bank
supply, the blood donation campaign aimed to create a sense of awareness and social responsibility
among the staff, students as well as members of the public towards the sick, less fortunate and needy in
the community. Olympia College is proud to organize this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
initiative.”

Preparation for the big day was started weeks earlier by putting up banners around the college,
distributing flyers to offices in and around Northam Tower and most importantly getting approval by
Penang General Hospital to provide medical officers, nurses and equipments to ensure the campaign ran
smoothly and efficiently.

The event was a great success with a total of 100 donors comprising staff, students and individuals from
all walks of life who came to support the drive. Potential donors were required to have prior medical
checks on their blood type, blood pressure and iron content before they are deemed fit to donate blood.
These were pre-measures taken by the nurses and doctors in ensuring that the donors do not suffer
repercussions.

In short, the college looks forward to organize more welfare activities in the near future to produce
responsible and caring youths towards the community.

Olympia College’s cutting edge and industry oriented Diploma in Business Studies programme will equip
students with the right professional skills required by the multi-national corporations. Students will be
expected to participate, debate, analyse and appreciate the thinking of the various business leaders and
their leadership styles.

Higher National Diploma (HND) from Edexcel, UK.

This guarantees entry into 2nd year of an undergraduate degree locally or to over 200 universities in UK,
USA and Australia. Students who want an European exposure can also completed their degree through
the University of Information Technology and Management (UITM), Poland at very affordable fees.
