ACTIVITY No. 2
1. If you were trapped in the collapsed building because of the Earthquake, What are you going to do?
•If possible, I would seek refuge beneath a strong table or desk. Outer walls, windows, fireplaces, and
hanging objects should all be avoided. I will also cover myself with blankets and pillows to protect myself
from falling objects.
2. Continuation on No. 1, What would you do if there is someone who is badly injured?
•If a person is badly injured or bleeding, put direct pressure on the wound, use clean gauze or cloth if
available.
BEFORE an Earthquake:
•Make sure you have a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, a battery-powered radio, a flashlight, and extra
batteries at home.
DURING an Earthquake:
•Keep your cool! Stay inside if you're inside. Stay outside if you're outside.
•If you're outside, get out of the way of power lines and anything else that could collapse. Stay away
from structures (stuff might fall off the building or the building could fall on you).
• Stand against a wall towards the middle of the structure, stand in a doorway, or burrow under heavy
furniture if you're indoors (a desk or table). Keep a safe distance from windows and doors.
•Use no matches, candles, or any other type of flame. Gas lines that have burst and a fire don't mix.
•If you're in a car, come to a complete stop and remain inside until the earthquake has passed.
AFTER an Earthquake:
• Check for injuries in yourself and others. Anyone who requires first assistance should be given it.
•Be cautious of shattered glass and other debris. To avoid cutting your feet, use boots or thick shoes.
•Beaches should be avoided. Tsunamis and seizures can occur after the ground has ceased trembling.
•Check for damage to water, gas, and electric lines. Shut off the valves if any are damaged. Check for the
presence of a gas odor. If you smell it, open all the windows and doors, get out as soon as possible, and
notify the authorities.
