“KINDNESS”

“Let me help you. Can I help you with your load aunt? Why don’t we go together?
It will save you some effort & money. Hey! You fell down from the swing. Come I
will press your knee. Oh my God! You dropped your lunch box. I can share my
tiffin. Mommy packed some extra sandwiches.”

These are some statements we commonly hear, and must have said these sometime
too. These are some very common and usual ways of helping others. We all are
kind to the core and it is something that we learn by the way of seeing and
practicing. We often learn such good values at home. Our elders are the source of
this virtue and is a vessel overflowing with love, empathy, patience and humility.
All these qualities are the indicators of this virtue called kindness.

So, today here I will be fiving a speech on the most valued personality trait
“Kindness” which is a frequently heard word but people often forget to practice it
in real world. It’s a saying that;
“ Kar bhla to ho bhla”.
This saying means that when you do good for somebody, something good will
happen to you too. Doing good for somebody without expectation of any favor in
return is Kindness. Kindness is a humanitarian act that gives us a feeling of
happiness and satisfaction. Our elders and ancestors have also taught us to be kind
to the people around us.
It is well said that “A small act of Kindness makes the world a better place”
The word is kindness. Kindness towards one another should be a common goal
amongst not just you and your peers, but for everyone. Every time you do an act of
kindness such as helping an old lady to cross the street or even something as small
as opening a door for the stranger, you are creating a better mood and environment
for all those who witnessed it. Doing this could make someone’s entire day. These
simple acts make people want to do the same ,soon enough, you have just affected
millions of life with just one single act. A small drop in the pond can create ripple
that span the entire surface. So as the saying goes, one man can literally change the
world. We all come from different walks of life from the fortunate, to the
unfortunate to the ones in the middle ,we are all people and we all have feelings
and individual thoughts. You don’t know the baggage someone carrying in their
personal life. So what’s the point of making it heavier. Words also have an impact
on people. Simple jokes could make someone’s day that much worse. We all have
or moments where we just, forget, and that’s ok, we all make mistakes, the goal of
this speech isn’t to prevent you from going out and making a joke at your friend’s
expense, but to make you think of the consequences of the joke just a little more
than you would’ve. Instead of insulting clothes and shoes, why don’t we focus in
on other stuff? Things such as personality, sense of humor or maybe even their
smile, after all, when we die, all of our clothes stay here. Every single person you
see around you only happens once, you will never again see the same exact
personality and looks on anyone else, they aren’t one in a million, they are one in
infinity. Often, though, the same people who want to make fun of others, are the
ones that need the most help. Regardless of what side of the spectrum you are in,
never be quick to judge others, even if they just said something offensive, we all
have lapses in our judgment, it happens to all of us. So please, next time you see
someone drop their books, help pick them up, you notice an elderly woman having
troubles with her groceries? Help her take them to the car. I challenge you to make
the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time. According to a famous
saying;
“Never Look down on anyone unless you are there to help them up”

I think we should look upon the second aspect also. Kindness towards the
environment and surroundings is also very important. Nowadays we are
excessively making the mother earth suffer by polluting it and depleting its
resources. Mankind has already done a lot of exploitation of mother earth and now
its time to show kindness towards the earth. This we can do by keeping our
surroundings clean, use of biodegradable products and planting more number of
trees. Kindness is also a means to show your love and affection to someone
without words being used. It’s a language of love that is understood by all.
Kindness improves our way of living and it brings people and society together and
decreases hatred, negativity, and jealousy in the society.

The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) taught love, kindness and compassion to his
people, and was seen to be the most loving, kind, and compassionate of all of them.
He took a great interest in the welfare of all people and had great compassion for
people in trouble. The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) imitated the attributes of
God par excellence and translated them into practice in the highest form possible
for man. Kindness is an attribute of Allah, which has no limits. It is extensive and
encompasses all things and all beings without discrimination. Likewise was the
kindness of the Prophet. He extended it to all beings, both animate and inanimate
and benefited all without measure. There are many Hadith concerning his kindness
to animals, birds and insects:

"God prescribed kindness towards everything; so when you slaughter any

animal, slaughter it well; when you sacrifice, make your sacrifice good. And
let everyone sharpen his weapon and make it easy for his sacrificed animal"

It is after all kindness that is making this world worth a living place. Imagine a
world without kindness and you will realize that it is a place no better than hell.
Think if you were in trouble and in this need of the hour you had no one whom you
could look up to, and you feel stalled, all alone, how would you feel? What would
you do? What if even your sister won’t be kind to you? How about your own
mother and father? What if they forgot all about being kind and helpful? This is a
dreadful thought I must say. It sends shivers down my spine, even at the thought of
it.

At the End I just want to conclude by saying that Kindness is all that our world
needs today in the era of excessive competition. We must teach our children to be
kind to others. We should also teach the younger generation to avoid judgments
and opinions about others. Also, we shall teach them to criticize less and appreciate
more to improve relationships. If we all start adopting kindness acts as our lifestyle
then the world would definitely become a better place to live for future
generations.
