Indywood Bhasha Kesari Award, the highest award in
Malayalam literature, was bestowed upon Former Chief
Secretary and Malayalam Scholar, K. Jayakumar IAS
(Retd.).
Five lakh Rupees along with the Certificate of
Achievement and Trophy was presented to him during
the award ceremony conducted at the Raj Bhavan on
September 21. This is an award given for the total
contribution to the Malayalam language.
Dr. Sohan Roy, Founder of Indywood Bhasha Sahitya
Award and Chairman of the Indian Language Literary
Awards Committee, stated, "Despite being busy with his
official commitments and spending a good part of his life
in a field of work, that is not directly related to language.
K. Jayakumar's noteworthy contributions at various levels
have made him a well-deserved candidate for this
recognition."

The Bhasha Kesari Award is the highest honor announced
by Indywood Bhasha Sahitya Award-Malayalam to honor
individuals who have made noteworthy contributions to
Malayalam literature.
The names of the winners in various other categories were
also announced. The award ceremony will be organized
once the COVID restrictions are lifted. Winners of these
award categories will be honored with a cash prize of Rs
10,000 and a certificate of achievement.
