Learning Task: Writing a Summary

Direction: Write the summary of the stories Bowaon and Totoon, and Sicalac and Sicavay.

Bowaon and Totoon

There we’re two friends named Bowaon and Totoon. They are jobless persons and
Don’t have money to sustain their daily needs. One day, they rode a horse and find
Food to eat. They able to find some fishes but Totoon chose not to eat them and gave
Fishes more time to live. As the time passed by, they we’re just fighting and Bowaon was
Blaming Totoon all throughout their journey. They we’re just walking and saw a palace and knocked on it.
They we’re not able to eat that time. To make the story short, Bowaon became the cook of the palace and
Totoon becomes the Secretary of the King. As the time passed by, Bowaon became angry to Totoon and
started to plan evil things that will make the king angry to Totoon but he did not success with his plans
because those living things that Totoon helps when they are on their journey, helps him too and afterwards,
he marry the daughter of the King and they lived happily ever after.

Sicalac and Sicavay

Sicalac and Sicavay was a seed out of a bamboo tree planted by the God named Captan. They we’re seed out
of the bamboo tree. Sicalac was the man and Sicavay was the woman and they were siblings. One day,
Sicalac ask Sicavay if he can marry her but Sicavay chooses to refuse at first since they we’re siblings.
Sicalac pursue and still chasing Sicavay and the time comes that Sicavay chooses to get some advice from
the tunas of the sea, thedoves of the air and the earthquake, who agreed that they should marry to make the
world populated. They married each other and they had a son named Sibo and a daughter named Samar.
Sibo and Samar had a daughter named Lupluban who also married Pandaguan, who was also a son of Sicalac
and Sicavay. Pandaguan invented a fishing net and was able to catch a shark but not able to survive for a
long time since it needs a water for him to be alive. He gets angry and shout as loud as he can to give
message to Captan. Captan struck him dead by a thunderbolt. Pandaguan stayed for a long time in infernal
regions but sooner the God pity on him and get hims back to the world but as he gets back, he finds out that
Lupluban had a concubine of Maracoyrun which made him vow to the infernal regions and promise that he
will not get back to the world.
