1. What is the important of light?

- Most essential factor for life on earth to exist without it, plants would not be able
to grow which means it wouldn’t be able to make oxygen for us to breathe,
wouldn’t be able to feed us as well as feed the animals that many of us depend on
for food and. In the most basic form, light allows us to see.

2. What is a source of light?

- Any source or object which emits its own light is a source of light.

3. Give at least five (5) natural sources of light?

- Sun, Stars, Lightning, Fireflies, Jellyfish

4. Give at least five (5) artificial sources of light?

- Light Bulb, Lamp, Fire, Torch, Candlelight

5. What is meant by incandescent? Give at least five (5) examples incandescent light.

- When an object is incandescent, it emits light because it is hot. Emitting light as

a result f being heated is called incandescent. Examples are, Sun, Stars, Torch,
Fire, Lamp.

6. What is meant by bioluminescent? Give at least five (5) examples of bioluminescent

light.

- Living things that emit light without getting hot are called bioluminescent.
Examples are, Fireflies, Glow-worms, Angler Fish, Viper Fish, Black Dragonfish.

7. Give example of non-incandescent light sources applied in engineering.

- Fluorescent tubes, Glow in the dark paints, Glow in the dark signs, Glow in the
dark stickers, Glow in the dark sticks.

8. What are reflectors of light? Give at least five (5) examples.

- Cannot emit their own light. They just reflect light from luminous objects.
Examples are, Moon, Mirrors, Smooth water, Metal and Smooth shiny surfaces.
