25 years old man weighing 75Kg, subjected to a chemical burn


while working in a detergent laboratory. The burn involves the
whole right upper limb, face, neck, chest, and the back. The
burnt area is characterized by areas of redness, with some
vesicles. He was shouting from pain. In the ER the patient`s
vital signs were as follow: Pulse rate 124 bpm, Blood pressure
112/70 mmHg, Respiratory rate: 20 breaths/min, Temperature
37.8 oC

1. What are the immediate pre-hospital measures of the burn
patient?
2. What is the degree and the percentage surface area of
burn?
3. How you calculate the fluid requirement for this patient?
4. What are the indications of admission to hospital in a
burned patients?
