The Influence Of Social Media On Daily Activities

Social media is something that we need to question again. Because this has become our
daily "food", therefore sometimes we need to think about what things really affect our daily
lives because of social media. The first social networking site, Sixdegrees.com, started
appearing in 1997. This site has applications for creating a profile, adding friends, and
sending messages. The way this site works is almost the same as the social media we know
Facebook which was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg.

According to Wikipedia social media is an online media used by each other where users
can easily participate, interact, share and create content on blogs, social networks, wikis,
forums and the virtual world. Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein define social media as
"a group of internet-based applications that build on the ideology and technology of Web
2.0 and exchange user-generated content". In the above sense, I understand that social
media is a human way of communicating without having to meet face to face with various
communication purposes and to convey information.

There are things we need to know about this social media, especially on the impact or
anything that affects us because of this social media. According to personal, social media
has an effect on a person's attitude. People who tend to focus too much on their social
media, r on average, they do their daily activities according to what other people want. The
point is that this person is very much influenced by social media so that they do not realize
that they change their attitude to be someone else and not be their real self. It is a possibility
or thing that affects a person in a negative context.

In the world of social media, of course there are many things that make it very easy for us
all in many ways. In everyday life we can communicate briefly and quickly using social
media. In other words, social media is very useful in terms of communication. In addition
to facilitating communication, now the world is increasingly sophisticated, with social
media we can also meet our daily needs such as shopping.

So, in conclusion, social media is a simple and easy means of communication to convey or
receive information according to existing platforms that depend on usage. Social media in
the right hands will create enormous progress, and when social media is in the wrong hands,
it will certainly create great destruction as well. Remain wise in using social media, make
social media a place to seek knowledge and a place to meet daily needs, be careful in
choosing the information contained in Social media.
