The attention of all the Municipal Commissioners and the Additional Collectors LBs, in the State (except Mulugu & Hyderabad) is invited to the references cited, wherein it was reiterated to take up Nursery and other activities of Harithaharam as per timelines, Conduct of “Haritha Shukravaram” every Friday involving Public Representatives & stake holders and regular watering of Avenue & Median plants by deploying dedicated water tankers with sprayers / sprinklers 2 As you are aware that the Government proposed to take up Multi-Layer Avenue Plantation (MLAP) in all Avenues wherever there is scope as per availability of space, the following instructions are given as preparatory activities : + to raise the required plants at Nurseries, and take up regular maintenance activities to ensure proper growth of plants. + to raise Ornamental and Medicinal plants in Nurseries, that can be grown in the smaller bags of 5x9 and below sizes, for Avenue Plantation and homestead distribution Medicinal & Nutritional Plants: Munaga, Allaneredu, Karivepaku, Tulasi, Nimma, Addasaram, Lemon grass, Danimma, Papaya, Jama, Usiri, Aloevera, Sapota, Panasa, Tippateega, Any other medicinal plants. Ornamental plants: Tecoma gadichowdi, Neerium, Nandivardhanam, Mandara, Malle, Gorintaku, Pedilanthus, Clerodendrum__inermis, 3 File No.CDMA-K1/1/2020-DIR-CDMA Bougainvillea (different colors), Jatropha curcas, Golden Duranta, Rose, Vinca rosia, Pisonia alba, Ground covers (vadelia, verbena, lantana etc.,). The above species of plants shall be grown in the nurseries in order to cater to the huge requirement of ornamental plants i.e., about 20% of ULB nursery target for raising Multi Layer Avenue Plantations (MLAP) and some extent of medicinal & nutritional value plants during the forthcoming planting season Yellow Tecoma, which is evergreen perennial flowering shrub to medium size tree, blooms year around and it is one of the ancient flowering plant, shall be raised in all Nurseries atleast 1500 Nos. per Nursery so as to plant in Avenues under MLAP to enhance beautification. Maintenance activities including growth boosters should be applied regularly, so as to get required height of plant material for the forthcoming planting season, which is hardly 3 months away from now. Bag Conversions shall also be done in time, for proper growth of plant. In view of the above, the Municipal commissioners and the Additional collectors (LBs) shall take up all required measures for growing and stocking of required plant material in nurseries, so as to cater to the requirement of plants for MLAP and plantation to be taken up under various components in 2021-22.
