Office Lens your Digital Scanner - a great way to
digitally capture information from various sources

You no longer need to use a photocopier! Use
Office Lens to capture notes and information using
you tablet or smart phone. Upload your scans to
Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive and you can
save them as PDF or send them in an email.
Office Lens recognises the text whether its
handwritten or printed and becomes fully editable
using the Office apps.

iPad Tips & Tricks - Use your iPad to save time and
money, and study smarter

OneDrive not only allows you to keep your Use
Multitasking to use two apps simultaneously on
your iPad with Split View; type your essay and
research on the internet at the same time. Use
Reader view to read webpages without distractions,
hide ads, navigation menus, etc.
Learn to organise and bookmark your webpages.
Convert a webpage into a PDF, upload it to
OneDrive and annotate it with your comments.
Dictate text on your iPad instead of typing.

Adobe CC Express Pages - create dynamic and
innovative portfolios, resumes, presentations, blog
posts, and photo galleries

Adobe Spark Page is a web hosting service to create
and publish web pages. These are incredibly simple
to create with no design or coding skills needed.
Spark page is ideal for projects such as portfolios,
resumes, presentations, blog posts, and photo
galleries. Choose to add, text, photo images, video
and much more to create eye catching and
impactful content which can be accessed from any
device or browser.
In this workshop learn how to create your own page
and share this content with anyone across the
world wide web, you even have the option to share
and collaborate with colleagues on the same page.

How to reference…books
Wednesday 2nd February 12.30 - 1pm, Online
Are you unsure about how to write references using
the Harvard style?
This series of short workshops will take you through
how to reference items that you will use when
writing assignments.
Starting with the most common item – books (print
and ebook) this 30-minute online workshop will
give you tips on how to create an accurate book
reference. This will include what to do when:
 There is more than one author
 It is not the 1st edition.
This workshop is not subject specific and is suitable
for any student who needs help with the basics of
referencing.

OneNote - Create and store all your notes, lecture
slides and ideas in one place

Stay organised and learn how to use OneNote as a
digital Notebook, dividing it into sections and pages.
Insert your PowerPoint presentation, annotate and
make notes during your session.
Brainstorm your ideas, take a picture or create a
video and use it as a reflect tool. Sync them among
across different platforms, including Windows,
Macs, tablets, smart phones and the web.
