What Are The Differences Between NRC and STC
What Are The Differences Between NRC and STC
- STC is related to sound proofing between the outside and inside of the room
whereas NRC is a parameter of a particular material used inside the room so that
you get the right acoustics inside the room
Which is best use higher value for NRC and STC in a place such as gymnasium, theatre, guidance
office room, conference room, etc. Why?
- STC=45, loud speech barely heard while normal speech not heard
- The higher the NRC, the better the product is at absorbing the sound so a material
with a n NRC rating of 0.95 means that the material absorbs 95% of the sound in the
space and reflects 5% .
