Holiday at Home
Last week was my holiday. I did not go to my office to work or anywhere. I just
stayed at home. For a week I enjoyed some activities routinely, such as playing
game and watching TV. I wanted to forget routine activities at the office.
On Tuesday, as usual, I woke up earlier and did morning prayer. After that, I
had breakfast with my family at 07:00 a.m. At 08:00 a.m., I turned on computer and
played a game. When I saw the time, it was 10:00 o’clock, I rushed to take a bath to
freshen my body.
Then, I watched my favorite TV programs until it was almost midday. At 01:00
p.m., I went to bathroom to take water for prayer and immediately did midday prayer.
Then, I had lunch and helped my mother to clean the house.
Because I was tired, I fell asleep on the sofa. Unexpectedly, after waking up, I
had a guest who could cheer me up. My aunt came with her twin children, Rafa and
Rara. My mother met them and talked with my aunt. I asked my nieces to play
games in the living room. I kept playing games with them until evening.
Although I just stayed at home during the holiday, I could refresh my mind
from the routine activities in the office.

The name of Seto Mulyadi is usually connected with children world in
Indonesia. His familiar name is Kak Seto. He’s popular as good friend and
teacher for children. His life now is actually different from his childhood. Life
was hard for him when he was a child.
Kak Seto was born in Klaten, a small town in central Java, on 28th
August 1951. He has got two brothers, a twin brother and an older brother.
His father passed away when he was 14.
In 1970 he was not accepted in the Medical Faculty. So he moved to
Jakarta and worked as a construction worker. He also worked for a children
magazine. When he was in the Faculty of Psychology, the University of
Indonesia, he was very active in some programs for children education. He
finished his study in 1981.
In 1987 he got married and now he has four children. He loves his
family and he thinks that he learns a lot of from childen.
Kak Seto is a great father for his children and best friend for all
children in Indonesia.

Several months ago, I was invited by my old friend to visit Mount Prau. It
made me very excited since I had waited such trip for a long time. I thought
it was my lucky day because he had prepared everything for our trip,
including getting all the tickets for us. My friend and I departed to the train
station in the morning and headed to Wonosobo.
After a few hours, we arrived at Purwokerto Station. Before continuing
our trip, we looked something to eat because we were so hungry. We found
a nice restaurant. I was so surprised because I had found the cheapest food
ever. After enjoying some food and enough rest, we took a bus to Dieng
Plateu.
We started to hike at 2 p.m. During the jurney, we saw the vast area of
farm. The slope was not too steep but we must be careful since there were
roots of the trees along the footpath.
Finally we reached the summit of Mount Prau at 5 p.m. Fortunately, we
could see the sunrise on its summit. I took pictures as many as I could. I
was satisfied with this trip. My efforts had paid off.

The School of Chemistry held a competition called simulation lesson
competition. As a student of teacher education, I was ready to join the
competition and was so excited because it would have been a great
experience.
At the beginning of the preparation, I was confused because I didn’t
know what to teach or how to make a good presentation. Luckily, a nice
senior sister called Temmy happily offered me a lot of help.
However, things did not go smoothly as planned. When I tried to give
a lesson, I found out that I didn’t know how to present my lesson. When it
came to a real situation, I was too nervous to remind myself of the next
part. In order to make a fluent lesson, I wrote down all the words I was
going to say in a paper and practiced it again and again on the balcony of
our dormitory. My roommates also gave me a lot of suggestions.
On the day of the competition, I presented my lesson smoothly and
was praised by the judges for my good performance in teaching attitude
and the structure of the lesson. I won the first place which was beyond my
expectation. I couldn’t tell how excited I was at that time, and all my
efforts have paid off
