Hall said the team is focused on two con-
cepts this season: Loyalty and service.
“Loyalty is not always respected or a
trait that gets rewarded enough,” Hall
said. “We’re going to be loyal to each oth-
er, our school, the community and to the
game. And we’re not going to have guys
delegating and telling others what to do,
we’re going to be doers and do what we can
to serve our teammates.
“These aren’t baseball skills, but I feel like
they play a big part in being successful.”
The Tigers begin the 2021 season Friday
(March 19) with a pair of games at the an-
nual Van Buren Wood Bat tournament,
facing Lesterville and host Van Buren.
Before switching to metal bats, the Ti-
gers will play more games with wood
when they host the annual Houston Wood
Bat Tournament Monday through Friday
of next week.

High School girls basketball team
have received South Central Asso-
ciation All-Conference recognition
for the 2020-2021 season.
Sophomore forward Olivia Crites
was named to the second team and
senior guard Jaden Stell received
honorable mention.

School district releases
information about
parking for softball games
The Houston School District has provided softball
fans with the following information about parking
during the 2021 season.
“As we gear up for spring sports, we wanted to com-
municate a couple of items regarding new construc-
tion and parking at either softball field.
Parking for these contests will be in the high school
student parking lot or adjacent gravel lot that was
added last year.
“The parking lot located between the gym and soft-
ball fields will be closed due to construction; however,
there will be limited parking spaces available in this
lot for handicapped accessibility only.
“Please be mindful of flags, caution tape and barriers
that will be placed around the area for safety purposes.”
