Lesson no: 2
Surrounded by trash
Answer the following questions.
Ans2. Different people give different reasons about littering public places. Many people think that it
is all right to litter as it is the duty of sweepers to keep the area clean. Some think that since they are
visiting for a few hours only.
Ans3. The littering can cause many diseases because trash that is left around accumulates and rot. It
attracts germs, flies, mosquito and insects. Rotten fruits and decaying food stuffs also give out
poisonous and bad smell which is extremely harmful for the health.
Ans4. Our good and bad habits greatly affect our environment. If we have the bad habit of littering,
we’ll make our environment a very unfit place for living. On the other hand, if we have good habit of
disposing of our garbage in dustbin we will make our environment very good.

Ans2. The Kalash women wear a large head-dress decorated with different buttons, shells and
beads.
Ans3. The main attraction for tourists in Chitral valley is the people of Kalash, their friendly nature

“Kalash” means black.

Answer the following questions.
We should check out the timetable, we should be a few minutes early, and we should behave with
driver conductor and other passengers politely.
Ans2. While you are waiting for a transport you should take care to stand away from the edge of a
footpath or if on a platform, away from the edge of platform. Don’t play with your friends while
waiting for a bus or van.
