About group interview
You need to understand this!
Group interviews are also called leaderless group interviews, which use scenario
simulation to conduct group interviews with candidates. A certain number of candidates
form a group (usually 8-10 people). During the discussion process, no role or position is
specified. Let the candidates arrange their own organization.
In the group interview, you can simulate the problems encountered in real work. By
observing the behavior of the examinee in the group decision-making environment, the
interviewer can see the various characteristics of the examinee, such as thinking ability,
communication ability, expression ability, Self-confidence and the ability to organize and
coordinate are not only conducive to one-sidedness in the future, but also to eliminate
unsuitable candidates more accurately and quickly.
Leader: The leader of the group, responsible for the overall process of the group, and
team roles need to be arranged when necessary.
Time keeper: Responsible for arranging the rhythm of the group discussion according to
the total interview time, not just timing, but strict control of students who run off the
question overtime. Note that time control often affects the success or failure of the entire
group.
Frame builder: Put forward a basic problem-solving framework or plan based on the
given problem, and guide everyone in the direction of the given framework in the follow-
up discussion.
Suggestions: Give constructive opinions and unique opinions based on the topic; make
appropriate refutations and give reasons for inappropriate opinions put forward by
others.
No matter what kind of role you play, you need to be a good listener and recorder first!
When the interviewer asks: What role did you play in the discussion process? According
to your own performance, you can give answers in accordance with the above-mentioned
roles.
In fact, the division of roles in the group is not so clear. It is not that you can pass a
certain role. What is more important is to combine your own advantages and
understanding of the topic to play a value in the group discussion.
