1. Scope

This specification is applied to the heat treatment of the following header pipes.

ASME Sc.VIII Div.1 (No Stamp) with PED confirm


ASME SA-333GR.6

3. Applicable Drawing

AL0428E / AL0429E / AL0430E / AL0431E

4. Heat Treatment

After burr machining, heat treatment is carried out.

Prior to heat treatment, the surface of the material to be heat treated shall be check that there are no
contamination, grease, paint and etc..

The temperature of the furnace shall not exceed 300oC at the time when the material to be heat treated in place
in it.

Above 300oC, the rate of heating shall be not more than 200oC/hr.

The heat treated material shall be hold at or above the temperature specified in UCS-56 (ASME Sec.VIII Div.1).
During the heating and holding periods, the furnace atmosphere shall be so controlled as to avoid excessive
oxidation of the surface of the heat treated material.

Above 300oC, the rate of cooling shall be not more than 250oC/hr.
From 300oC, the heat treated material may be cooled in still air.

Temperature : 625±25oC
Holding Time : 1 hour

5. Record

Heating rate, holding temperature/time, and cooling rate shall be recorded and documented on the heat
treatment chart.
