A. INTRODUCTION:

The Roomba robotic vacuum cleaners from iRobot are automated and provide a better-personalized
experience. It debuted in September 2002 and is fitted with sensors to move between storeys.
Roombas may be customized and reprogrammed to perform more creative jobs when used in
conjunction with an integrated computer and the Roomba Open Interface.

B. FEATURES:
 Inbuilt with sensors that enable them to detect obstacles such as dirty spots on the floor and
steep drops (e.g., to avoid falling downstairs).
 Automatic dustbin emptying technology gathers the dirt in a dust bag located in the separate
charging base; this system is called the clean base.
 Roomba’s newer models have iRobot Genius. This platform helps to give personalized
experience through insights and technology on our habits, home, and even in different
seasonal changes in the environment.
 Roomba's newest model utilizes vSLAM navigation technology, which gathers more than
230,400 data points each second, resulting in better cleaning and more control over which
areas are vacuumed.
 Imprint link technology helps pair the Roomba s9+ and the new Bravo jet m6. It will
automatically notify m6 to mope after it finishes cleaning the place.
 It also includes zone mapping and keeping out zones as part of the imprint innovative
mapping technology, which creates virtual maps of your house, and you can choose which
area to clean and areas to avoid.
 It will recharge intelligently for the needed time to continue cleaning if the battery gets low.
 It has voice recognition features with the help of Alexa or Google assistant.
 The newer models also have cameras as an additional feature.

C. CUSTOMER PAIN POINT

 Since the pandemic started, there have been many issues in getting a house-help, and we
know how dependent on house-help in general in India; also, for the women who are doing a
full-time job and then spending hours cleaning the house, which drains them out. A
traditional vacuum cleaner creates high maintenance and cannot store more dirt. And also, it's
pretty tough to sweep and clean beneath the furniture. So, to tackle all the issues pain points
by the customer Roomba, iRobot, are back with a new, much brighter robotic vacuum.
 Many similar products exist, like Roborock S7, Eufa Robovac 25C, Evocavs Deebot 500,
Neato Robotics D10. iRobot Roomba vacuum has many different versions like Roomba i3,
i3+, i4, i7, etc.
 The Roomba i3, like other fantastic robot vacuums today, works well in most houses, large
and small, since it drives in neat, back-and-forth rows, keeping track of where it has been and
hasn't been to avoid missing any enormous areas of flooring. However, unlike most of its
competitors, it is durable and repairable. While we cannot guarantee the longevity of this
machine, we can anticipate it by owning and using it for many years. It also cleans rugs better
than most bots, and hair doesn't twist as easily in its brushes. We can turn the robot on or off
and establish an automatic cleaning schedule using the app and a Wi-Fi connection. Also, the
Roomba S9+ is one of the newest iRobot models to enter the market, and while it is costly, it

provides excellent overall performance. In our cleaning tests, the vacuum gets top marks
down the line, and it's best when it comes to cleaning bare floors and edges.

D. MARKET OPPORTUNITY:
In 2019, the global robotic vacuum cleaner market was estimated at USD 2.56 billion, with a
compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.7% predicted from 2020 to 2027. One of the main
elements driving demand for robotic vacuum cleaners is reducing time spent on domestic tasks.
Changing lifestyles, increasing disposable income, a growing working population, increased
purchasing power, and convenience of use are essential drivers of the market's global expansion.
Because of their ability to clean an area without requiring human participation, consumers are more
likely to acquire robotic vacuum cleaners on the market. Consumers won't have to worry about
battery recharging because these robots can navigate themselves to the charging station.
The availability of less time for home duties is a crucial element encouraging consumer adoption.
Growing disposable income among dual-income households is a primary driving force behind
market expansion. Robotic vacuum cleaners have a higher penetration and adoption rate, which
provides the potential for producers in the industry. To achieve a larger market share, businesses are
developing new items. For example, Neato Robotics announced the release of Neato Zone Cleaning
for the Botvac D7 Connected and No-Go Lines for the Botvac D3 Connected in December 2018.
Consumers can use the zone cleaning feature to identify a segment or a specific region for active
cleaning. Consumers can build a no-go zone with the help of the No-Go line. This innovation offers
users flexibility for the effective use of robotic vacuum cleaners.
The increasing smart home trend is a primary driving force behind market expansion. In light of this,
iRobot enhanced the Amazon Alexa & IFTTT capability in Wi-Fi-enabled Roomba robots in India
and other developing nations in September 2019. With the use of a voice activation command,
customers can start, stop, and pause their devices.
Market growth is expected to be aided by a rise in technology integration. The high cost of the
products, on the other hand, is posing a significant obstacle to the market. It is limiting the product's
uptake among the general public. The market is being held back by the availability of many
counterfeit products on the market.

E. VALUE PROPOSITION:
First Priority: Customer Focus iRobot remains committed to its core value proposition: cutting-edge
robots that free clients from mundane tasks and allow them to focus on more important things.
iRobot began offering connected Roomba vacuums as a result of this client emphasis. Customers can
use their phones to manage their Roombas anywhere and whenever they choose, thanks to cloud
connectivity, which gives them, even more convenience and control.

F. TARGET CUSTOMERS:

The robotic vacuum cleaner industry is also known as robovacs and is used primarily in
residential areas such as cleaning pools, gutters, and floors. Its main target customers are-

 High Earners and young people typically seek the most sophisticated products.
 Women doing jobs will have to worry less about cleaning the house.
 Aged people who stay alone at their house can’t sweep floors.
 Hospitals, Retail, Offices, Healthcare are also the target market that robotic vacuum Roomba
focuses on.

G. PRICE:

Here Value-based pricing is used by iRobot, which means they "set appropriately low prices while
still providing high-quality products and adequate customer support."

This pricing strategy is based on the buyer's cost perceptions. Before production, they analyzed their
target market and the price range buyers were willing to spend. This increases earnings and aligns
with their target market, as it appeals to high-earners and young people who tend to seek out the
most advanced items. Promotional tools must be used to communicate the product's availability and
its pricing.

Roomba vacuum cleaners come in a variety of models with various features. Depending on the
model, configuration, and accessory packages, the suggested retail price varies from 18900 to Rs
149900.

The iRobot Roomba 620 starts at Rs. 32,900 and goes up to Rs. 69,900 for the iRobot Roomba 880.

$4999. The Roomba i3 was available for Rs 39900, and the Roomba i3+ was available for Rs 59900
as part of the launch deal.

With Amazon sales, you can buy iRobot products, including the Roomba i3+ and the Roomba i7+,
for as much as Rs 20,000 off.

The i7 and i7+ vacuum models from Roomba are offered at Rs 44,900 and Rs 59,900, respectively,
saving customers Rs 15000. For Rs 29,900 and Rs 44,900, respectively, the upgraded Roomba i3 and
i3+ are also available. Roomba 692/698 and Roomba S9+ vacuum cleaners are also on offer. In
addition, the iRobot Braava Jet M6 automatic mopping robot is available for Rs 44,900 instead of Rs
52,900. The company sells a variety of cleaning products for use around the home. Roomba S9+,
which retails for Rs 1,49,900, will now cost Rs 1,29,900, a savings of Rs 20,000

The Roomba is more powerful, influential, brighter, and equipped with more features than the Pure
Clean. Money is required to win on all of these fronts. The following are factors that went towards
the price of Roomba. Pure Clean has more than double the number of parts and is significantly
larger.

Roomba will continue to focus on enhancing the scalability and efficiency of our supply chain and
our purchasing and supply procedures as part of its strategic objective to mitigate the risks associated
with single-source supply.
