Introduction to Nursing Theory

What is Nursing?

Nursing is as diverse and dynamic as the people who apply the art and science of care in the practice of nursing.

All nursing acts are directed towards achieving the client's biopsychospiritual well-being and assisting the client to
have an optimum level of functioning to live a dignified normal life.

Nursing theory, attempts to explain the Science and Art of Nursing.

Implication to nursing student/learner

Nursing science therefore is brewing place of different knowledge and culture of care and healing that
has been practiced and preserved since the dawn of time.

"It is important for nursing students to establish a working knowledge of the different concepts that consist a nursing
theory since it is varied and highly dynamic and undergoes change, or evolution, as new discoveries and information
emerge that may redefine nursing knowledge from time to time."

principles.
