SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION 7

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
• illustrate decile for ungrouped data;
• compute decile for ungrouped data;
• interpret decile for ungrouped data; and
• solve problems involving decile for ungrouped data.

II. Subject Matter


New Topic: Deciles for Ungrouped Data
References: Prof. Ed. 7: Assessment Learning 1, Internet, Mathematics Book
Materials: Cartolina, Construction Paper, Glue, Pentel Pen, Pictures, Measuring Stick

III. Procedure
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Classroom Routine:
a. Opening Prayer
b. Greetings
c. Checking of attendance
2. Review:
The teacher will ask the students about the previous lesson. (Quartile)
3. Motivation
The teacher will show a picture then, the students are asked to guess the picture that
presented. This will lead students to the lesson of the day.

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
The teacher will start to introduce the new topic and paste the visual aids she prepared on
the board. She will give at least two example problems and discuss to the class on how to
solve it. After that, teacher will ask to the students if they really understand the topic.
2. Activity
The teacher will paste on the board the problems and let the students answer it in a whole
sheet of paper.
3. Analysis
Randomly select three (3) students to come forward and solve the given problem. After
that, let them discuss it to the class.
4. Abstraction
The teacher will ask few questions to the random students;
1. What is decile?
2. What are the steps in finding the decile?
3. What are the steps in applying linear interpolation?
5. Application
FIND YOUR HEIGHT!
The teacher will select fifteen (15) students, give them a measuring stick to measure
their height. Let the rest of the students record it all. Then instruct them to solve the
problem given by the teacher.

IV. Evaluation
The teacher will give a modified true or false quiz and essay, which she will dictate to the
class.

V. Assignment
Study/Research about the percentile for ungrouped data.
