1. What is the importance of hazard control in an industrial environment? What are main ways to reduce hazard
from workplace?

2. What emergency plan would you suggest for a petrochemical industry? What are the overall objectives and
elements of plan?

3. Why working in a confined space is hazardous than any other workspace? What preventive measures should
be considered when entering in a confined space?

4. What is the purpose of a joint health and safety committee? How do you design a safety program?

5. Why should anyone have an occupational health & safety policy? What makes a policy statement effective?

Section B (20 Marks)

6. In a FMCG company, biscuits are made. In the end of March, due to some unavoidable reasons the supplier
could not supply PPE kits on time. At the same time some of the staff associated with the housekeeping was on
leave due to health issues. The health issues to the housekeeping staff were only due to change in weather. What
would you suggest to overcome this situation; however, the production, hygiene, and quality need to be
maintained! (8)

7. In an industry, the fire took place in a machine due to lubricant oil. What would you suggest to overcome the
situation quickly, keeping in mind that the nearby machines and operators should be safe! (6)
