VOLLEYBALL RULES

 Each team should have only 6 playing members

• Teams can have maximum 2 substitute players.

• Rolling substitutes are allowed in the match.

• Teams need to submit the names of the playing 6 (+2 substitutes) to the Volleyball

event coordinator just before each match.

• There should be only 6 members from each team within the playing field at any

point of time during the match.

• Teams can have 2 time-outs per set of 1 minute each.

• "On the Line" will be treated as "In".

• Rotation of players is not mandatory.

 Each match will be played in a single set of 25 points or 15 points. If the game is tied at 24-
24, or 14-14, the set continues till one team builds a two-point lead over the other.
 Teams can end up losing a point for following reasons-
Stepping over the line while serving, if any part of the body touches the net, double hit (when the
same player hits the ball twice in succession), a team taking more than three touches before hitting
it over the net and hitting the ball beyond the boundary line.
 Serve can be performed by hand or any part of the arm. (Kick is not allowed in serving).
 A ball must be released from the hand before hitting it (common mistake, especially with
underhand servers is to hit to ball without releasing the ball. However, remember that even
quarter of an inch release is enough. It is correct as long as the ball is leaving the hand before
hitting it.)
 Inappropriate requests and actions which delay the game are not allowed.
 Referee's decision would be considered the final decision.
