G. Summary of my Activities and Future Plans

The main focus of my research and work is emotional intelligence in organizations and
education systems and the evaluation of trainings to enhance social-emotional competencies.

I have been studying in the links between emotional intelligence and other concepts (such as
well-being and incivility), and the effectiveness and impact of emotional intelligence trainings in
both qualitative and quantitative measures.

I am in a process of writing a number of papers on nurses and doctors emotional mechanism in

the face of incivility. Also, in the medical arena, I am in the process of studying the impact of Grit
and Growth mindset on coping with challenges and its links to emotional intelligence among family
doctors.

I am interested in developing measures to evaluate social-emotional skills among young

children, as valid appropriate measures scantly exist.

I am intending to co-author a book about extreme cases of incivility and the impact of emotional
intelligence on coping.
Additionally, as technology shapes reality I intend to study the role of group apps such as
WhatsApp on emotions, empathy and support in the family, as well as bullying, emotional resources
and family support in a cultural perspective.

Lastly, I am involved in a multi-national initiative to implement and study the impact of a

Shared Humanity social emotional project, collaborating with researchers in Britain, Malta, South
Africa and Australia.
