To Create a mapping we must have atleast one source and one target.

Now drag and drop respective source

It prompts to mapping name

Give name
You can see below screen

Transformations

1) Active: WILL CHANGE NO.OF RECORDS FROM SRC TO TGT

2) Passive: WILL NOT CHANGE NO.OF RECORDS FROM SRC TO TGT

SOURCE QUALIFIER TRANSFORMATION

ACTIVE
CONNECTED
MANDATORY TRF FOR DB AND FLATFILE SOURCES

Now drag and drop Target definition to Mapping designer

Do mapping from source qualifier to Target

Ctrl+S

For Flat file sources please place the file in below location. If not Session will be failed.
