Importing Source

Import Database source


Login to respective repository

Administrator/admin

Right click on the folder click on open

Tools  Source Analyser


Click on sources tab

Click on import from database

Create ODBC Data source name (One time activity no need to create every time) by clicking on browse
button then you can see below screen
Click on
Then Select Oracle in XE driver to connect to Oracle

Give any name & Description Data Source Name (DSN) then click ok
Click ok. Then click on drop down ODBC data Source you can the DSN name you have created.

Now use hr (username) password (hr) don’t change Owner name click connect

You can select multiple tables by using Ctrl key


Once you done this click Repository tab Save or Ctrl+S
Import Flat file Definition

We can import flat file sources at designer.


To Import a flat file we need that Sample flat file at our desktop but actual file should be placed in this
location C:\Informatica\9.5.1\server\infa_shared\SrcFiles
Sources tab  Import from file

Select respective flat file  OK


This check box helps to get
field names as column in
Informatica if source
contains column names

Choose type of flat file (Delimited/Fixed Width)


Click Next

Choose as shown above (If it is not comma then we can check the box as other and provide the
delimiter)
Click on Finish

Repository Save or Ctrl+S
