NATURE OF HAZARD
Natural hazard:
Natural hazards are naturally occurring physical
phenomena. They can be: Geophysical: a hazard
originating from solid earth (such as earthquakes,
landslides and volcanic activity) Hydrological: caused by
the occurrence, movement and distribution of water on
earth (such as floods and avalanches)

Is hazard caused by nature only?


Most disasters that could happen have not yet happened.
Natural (or physical) events are only termed hazards
when they have the potential to harm people or cause
property damage, social and economic disruption.

What is the physical nature of hazard?


A physical hazard is an agent, factor or circumstance that
can cause harm with contact. They can be classified as
type of occupational hazard or environmental hazard.
Physical hazards include ergonomic hazards, radiation,
heat and cold stress, vibration hazards, and noise
hazards.
