a. Explain the Transcultural Communication in Health Care
1.Increasing diversity in population is growing
Increasing diversity affect communication in health care. Simple,

with this growing population around the world, many cultures are

disseminated and its expansion is very vastly around the world. With this

various culture, it provides a challenge to the health care settings in

providing care, guidance, assistance, and management of these people

with considering the factors that affect health care like language barriers,

cultural differences which affects the various management that contradict

their beliefs. This diversity greatly affects the healthcare settings

especially nurses because they are mostly the one who interact with

clients. Understanding different cultural variation will be in demand. It

will be a challenge for us nurses to determine how to interact with

different client and how we response to their beliefs.

2.Multicultural clients groups

As from its own words, multicultural clients are those people with

different culture. They can be Asian American which they consist of some

Asian culture and American culture. These kind of clients tends be hard

to communicate with when it comes to health care settings as there is a

chance of having a misinterpretation of every verbal and nonverbal

actions due to involvement of different cultures. But it is our job as

nurses and with the knowledge we have in transcultural communication,

we can use this as an advantage to explore ways in dealing with this kind

of situation. This is a critical scenario where we show our skills and

flexibility in communication to these types of clients or groups in order to

provide the most effective and efficient care and management. We can use

various strategies in order to adapt on these different situations like

understanding both cultures their difference and comparison in order for

us to be sensitive enough and avoid conflict.

3.Multinational & multicultural workplaces

Flexibility and the ability to adapt is the key attitude when it comes

to working on these types of establishment. We totally know how

communication is very important for us health care workers in the

workplace as it provides good communication which results to

cooperation and unity to provide the most quality of care we can to our

clients. Without understanding the different cultures and nationality

aspect of everyone we cannot communicate effectively and with that

communication barrier it is nearly impossible to coordinate to each other

easily without coordination there is no quality care given to our clients. It

is very important for us to communicate effectively by our workmates we

can do that by understanding everyone’s culture to avoid conflicts. It

promotes being comfortable professionally with everyone.
