P-N JUNCTION DIODE CHRACTERESTICS

AIM: 1. To obtain the V-I characteristics of p-n junction diode.

PROCEDURE:

FORWARD CHARACTERISTICS:

1. Connect the circuit as shown in fig (1).


2. Note down the values of VF and IF by
(i) Varying RPS in steps of 0.1V to 1V.
(ii)Varying RPS in steps of 1.0V to 10V.
3. Tabulate the results VF and IF.
4. Plot the graph between VF and IF by taking VF on x-axis and IF on y-
axis.

REVERSE CHARACTERISTICS:

1. Connect the circuit as shown in fig (2).


2. Notedown the values of VR and IR by Varying RPS in steps of 1.0V
to10V.
3. Tabulate the results VR and IR.
4. Plot the graph between VR and IR by taking VR on x-axis and IR on y-
axis

PRECAUTIONS:

1. Check the circuit for loose connections.


2. Readings should be taken without parallax error.
