I have been given information about the study, ‘Investigating the Effectiveness of Mobile Technology for
Enhancing the Academic Literacy of Saudi EFL Students in Ubiquitous Learning’ by Abdalelah Al Qhtani who
is conducting this research as part of his PhD study at the University of Wollongong, supervised by Dr Rowena
Ward, from the school of Humanities and Social Inquiry, and Dr Mark Freeman from the School of Information
and Technology, at the University of Wollongong in Australia. This study is reviewed by the UOW human
research ethics committee no. [188/2021].

I understand that the only burdens associated with my participation in this research is:

1 The time involved in taking the pre-test at the beginning of the semester (approx. 25 minutes).
2 The time involved in attending additional workshops from the researcher (approx. 1-3 hour weekly for 10-
12 weeks and the researcher will observe the students’ interaction and discussion and number of the
accomplished tasks
3 The time involved in taking the post-test at the end of the semester (approx.25 minutes).

My participation is voluntary. I was assured that my name will not be used to identify me in the publications
resulting from this study.
I declare that this study does not pose any significant risk or discomfort to me. However, if I feel any discomfort
during completing the tests or studying the given materials, I can contact the Umm Al-Qura University’

I understand that the data collected from my participation will be used for the purpose of Abdalelah Al Qhtani’s
PhD thesis, the writing of journal articles and conference presentations.
