1. SUMMARY

In the following document I will explain the activities I have done as part of my OPEM
scholarship.

First, I will start explaining the PowerPoint for incoming Erasmus students in ESCS. The
goal of this presentation is to present to international students ESCS, IPL and the city of
Lisbon. Basically it would be a guided explanation of how this university works and what
you can expect from IPL and from Lisbon as an Erasmus students. This presentations
aims to be a kind of a “starter pack” to help out new students so we can make their
welcoming easier and more straightforward.

This presentation will include the following information :

Welcome!
1. History of ESCS and IPL
2. Studying in ESCS and in Portugal, Erasmus at ESCS (how system works and
general instructions)
3. Follow us!: ESCS social media and updates
4. International Relations Office – Erasmus Team: Erasmus Faculty Coordinators:
emails and contact information.
5. Before leaving home: Protocols and first paperwork to be done at beginning of
experience (certificate of arrival, learning agreement signed, change courses,
timetable..)
6. Mobility during COVID-19 times, Emergency contact, General safety in Lisbon.
7. Metro paperwork (very important)
8. Transport connections (how to arrive to ESCS)
9. ESCS student ID card (access to discounts and to library)
10. Moodle and access to Student Information System: Find timetable, grades,
courses and teachers (important: how to know username and password)
11. Library
12. Structure of ESCS building: What you find in each floor (what courses are giving
in which classes and how to find them), Cafeteria and Meals at ESCS.
13. Access to universities facilities and resources (computer rooms and resources,,
lending cameras and schools materials for your projects..etc)

2. OUTCOMES

The outcomes expected from this work are the following :

- Being a visual support on the welcoming session for erasmus students in ESCS.
For the first semester and second of any year. One of the main goals is that this
presentation can be used for many years at ESCS. The only thing that will change
are dates so for this reason I will give a copy of the original presentation to the
erasmus coordinators so they can change important dates for each year.

- Also one of the main goals is to use this presentation as useful information found
in the ESCS webpage in the international column.
This wil be found in the “International” column. This will help future Erasmus
students know what they can expect of this experience at ESCS. It will also help
students who already are accepted at ESCS and are not able to atten the
welcoming session have all the useful information available for them. Finally it
would be an easy document to remember all the contacts and information in its
contents in case you didn’t write it at the welcoming session and want to recall
it.

- Finally we expect that this presentation is very visually attractive, that it
represents perfectly ESCS essence and that it makes us stand out from other
universities and other Erasmus options at Lisbon. But also we want that all the
information is clearly exposed, that any doubts are resolved and that basically
makes new students feel safe and in a comfortable environment. Erasmus can
be a pretty difficult experience since its full of doubts and obstacles, so this
PowerPoint is made to make this experience easier and more welcoming.


3. Q&A video of Erasmus students in ESCS

In second place, I have helped out another colleague of mine, Asu, with her action place
which consists in a Q&A video of Erasmus students in ESCS. This video is based in similar
questions made to different ESCS students so they give their honest opinion about their
students and with this help out future students.

My participation in this project has consisted in filming some interviews to students at
ESCS as well as filming the inside of the university so we can add videos of the corridors,

the classes, the day-to-day at the university and all of its resources such as the cafeteria,
the library…etc

Outcomes

This video wil help out future erasmus students know the experience of previous
students. This helps them know what they can expect from ESCS and makes it a more
reliable option. It also helps to the ESCS reputation since it shows that its an up to date
university which keeps in touch with the popular trends and makes a good use of social
media which makes it seem like a more modern and professional university.
