 MANAGER: - Managers are responsible for the processes of getting activities completed

efficiently with and through other people and setting and achieving the firm's goals through
the execution of four basic management functions: planning, organizing, leading, and
controlling.

 FIRST-LINE MANAGER: -First-line managers are the entry level of management, the
individuals “on the line” and in the closest contact with the workers. They are directly
responsible for making sure that organizational objectives and plans are implemented
effectively.

 MIDDLE MANAGERS: - Middle managers have titles like department head, director, and
chief supervisor. They are links between the top managers and the first-line managers and
have one or two levels below them. Middle managers receive broad strategic plans from top
managers and turn them into operational blueprints with specific objectives and programs
for first-line managers

 TOP MANAGERS: - As you would expect, top-level managers (or top managers) are the
“bosses” of the organization. They have titles such as chief executive officer (CEO), chief
operations officer (COO), chief marketing officer (CMO), chief technology officer (CTO), and
chief financial officer (CFO).
 MANAGEMENT: -Management is the coordination and administration of tasks to achieve a
goal. Such administration activities include setting the organization's strategy and
coordinating the efforts of staff to accomplish these objectives through the application of
available resources.

 EFFICIENCY: -Efficiency refers to the act of performing activities with minimum


wastage of time and optimum usage of resources, so that the work done is faster and, in
an error, free manner.

 EFFECTIVENESS: -Effectiveness is the extent to which someone or something is successful


towards meeting the desired outcome.

 PLANNING: -When you think of planning in a management role, think about it as the
process of choosing appropriate goals and actions to pursue and then determining what
strategies to use, what actions to take, and deciding what resources are needed to achieve
the goals.

 ORGANISING: -This process of establishing worker relationships allows workers to work


together to achieve their organizational goals.

 CONTROLLING: -Evaluate how well you are achieving your goals, improving
performance, taking actions. Put processes in place to help you establish standards, so you
can measure, compare, and make decisions.

 MANAGEMENT ROLES: -Managers have many responsibilities to perform in their roles


as leaders of their departments.

 INTERPERSONAL ROLES: -Managers often interact with a variety of people including


employees, leadership and the community.

 INFORMATIONAL ROLES: -Managers may have a role where they provide information
to employees and the community.

 DECISIONAL ROLES: - Managers may hire new employees, conduct evaluations of


current employees and make decisions about operations.

 TECHNICAL SKILLS: -Technical skills are sets of abilities or knowledge used to perform
practical tasks in the areas of science, the arts, technology, engineering, and math. In most
cases, the acquisition of advanced technical skills requires specialized training or education,
which takes both time and resources.
 HUMAN SKILLS: -The human or the interpersonal skills are the skills that present the
managers' ability to interact, work or relate effectively with people. These skills enable the
managers to make use of human potential in the company and motivate the employees for
better results.

 CONCEPTUAL SKILLS: -Conceptual skills are the abilities that allow an individual to
understand complex scenarios and develop creative solutions. These skills are valuable in
the workplace because those who have them can approach complicated workplace
situations from unique perspectives.

 ORGANIZATION: -a group of people who work together in an organized way for


a shared purpose.

 UNIVERSALITY OF MANAGEMENT: -The universality of management is the concept


that all managers do the same job regardless of the title, position, or management level.
