IMPROMPTU
SPEAKING:
When using impromptu delivery, the
speaker often has little to no time to
prepare, basically having no advance
preparation before actually delivering the
speech. For this reason, impromptu
delivery often creates a higher level of
speech anxiety than in other modes of
delivery. Speaking spontaneously is scary,
but it's also a great way to improve your
public speaking skills. Only experienced
and experienced speakers can "pull" an
improvised presentation, usually without
appearing unprepared.
Example:
“To answer the question ‘Do you think this
generation will survive academically
without gadgets and internet
connectivity?’, I personally believe that we
this generation can actually survive
without the said technological aids.
Previous generations were able to graduate
and go on with their jobs without using too
much gadgets and internet. I believe that if
we utilize the libraries, books, and other
reading materials we have in our
surroundings to its full extent, we can
survive without the help of too much
technology.”

EXTEMPORANEOUS
SPEAKING:
Using extemporaneous delivery means
memorizing the whole flow, main points,
or overall structure of the speech or
presentation. Extemporaneous speeches are
presentations of carefully planned and
rehearsed speeches, spoken in conversation
with short notes. By using notes rather than
complete manuscripts, guest speakers can
establish and maintain eye contact with the
audience and assess how well they
understand the ongoing speech. Evaluation
opportunities are also opportunities to
more clearly express ideas and concepts
that may be difficult for the audience to
understand.
Examples:
“This kitchen shear I am endorsing, called
“Ku-Shear-Na” is a type of kitchen shear
that may resemble a scissor, but it has
more versatile functions than that. Unlike
longer household scissors, kitchen shears
have their blades' pivot point, also known
as their fulcrum, far from the handles and
close to the beginning of their short
blades. It is much safer to use, as said
earlier because of the short blades that
helps in avoiding cuts. It also comes with
either one or, less often, two serrated
blades. Key word, Versatile shears.” – A
Salesman in the Mall.
 MANUSCRIPT
DELIVERY:
When speaking from a manuscript, the
speaker maintains his or her attention on
the printed page except when using visual
aids. Manuscript delivery is best if your
speech contains complex information or if
you need to quote or publish the content of
your speech. Despite the fact that most
novice speakers don't fall into this
situation, many are attracted to this
delivery method because they are
convinced that everything they are trying
to say is in front of them. Unfortunately,
the security of being able to use every
word you want to say is an inadequate and
non-stimulating speech. Even if all the
words are spelled out, the speaker may
have fluent hiccups and verbal fillers if
they lose their position or come across
words in the manuscript.
Examples:
“For the Weather Forecast today, it will be
partly cloudy in the evening, becoming
cloudy overnight. Low around 55 F. Winds
S at 5 to 10 mph. Sun may give way to rain
for this evening, with a 10 percent chance
of precipitation and a low of 50 degrees.
Winds will remain calm at 9 mph. Clear
with cloudy periods; a slight chance of
showers or thundershowers. Mostly clear
with showers likely. Slight chance of a
thunderstorm. 3 to 6 mm of rain.”
MEMORIZED
DELIVERY:
As its name suggests, this type of delivery
means the speaker completely memorizing
and delivering the speech without notes is
also known as memorized delivery. Some
students attempt to memorize their speech
because they think it's safer not to have to
look at the notes. However, if the level of
anxiety rises at the beginning of the speech
and the head goes blank for a minute,
many admit that they should have chosen a
different delivery method. Memorizing
uses memorization techniques that involve
reading something and reciting it over and
over until it stays in memory. The main
drawback of this technique is its effect on
speech speed. When memorizing this way,
we pass through the first part of the speech
much more often than the latter part.
Examples:
“The National Territory comprises the
Philippine Archipelago with all the Islands
and water embraced therein and all other
territories over which the Philippines has
sovereignty or jurisdiction consisting of its
terrestrial, aerial, and fluvial domains,
including its territorial sea, the seabed, the
subsoil, the insular shelves and other
submarine areas. The waters around,
between, and connecting the islands of the
archipelago, regardless of their breadth and
dimensions form part of the internal waters
of the Philippines”
