1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION
The Hospital Management System project includes the registration of patients, and keeping
their details in the system. The software has a unique identifier for every patient and
automatically stores the details of each patient and doctor. The user can search for doctor's
availability for appointment and patient information. The Hospital Management System can
be installed using a username and password. Controlled by admin or doctor. They are the
only ones who can add data to the website. Data can be easily retrieved. The interface is easy
to use. Data is well protected for personal use and makes data processing much faster. The
Hospital Management System is powerful, flexible, and easy to use and designed to deliver
real unimaginable benefits to hospitals. The Hospital Management System is designed for
multi-specialist hospitals, to oversee a wide range of hospital management and administrative
procedures. It is a comprehensive Integrated Hospital Management System that provides
relevant information throughout the hospital to support effective patient care decision-
making, hospital management and critical accounting, in a systematic manner. Hospital
Management System is a software product suite designed to improve the quality and
management of hospital management in the field of clinical process and cost-based analysis.
The Hospital Management System enables you to improve your organization and improve its
efficiency and quality of work. Proper management of the processes that are essential to the
success of the hospital helps you to manage your processes.

1.2 MODULES IN THE PROJECT

The entire project has 3 modules
 Admin module
 Patient module
 Doctor module

1.2.1 ADMIN MODULE

The admin has full control over the system. You have access to all available hospital
records. Patients, doctors, departments, treatments, and medical records may all be managed
by the admin. A doctor's account can only be created by an administrator. To do so, the
administrator must also create accounts for the doctor of other hospital departments. All
appointment records can also be viewed by the administrator. In addition, the supervisor
should follow the treatment and payment information of each patient. The user must enter
the amount of the discount and its reasons to track the payment of each patient. The patient
may view all reports in their personal accounts after making a payment.

9
1.2.2 PATIENT MODULE
After logging in for the first time, users can log in to monitor meeting status. All
appointments are on hold by default. A doctor must first approve or deny a treatment
procedure before it can begin. Patients also have the right to cancel their reservation at any
time. The patient dashboard allows patients to update information and access treatment
and prescribing data. Patients have access to all records in the treatment area,
including treatment type, doctor name, date, and total cost.

1.2.3 DOCTOR MODULE

The technology will be accessible to each doctor through his or her own account. All pending
sessions can be viewed by a doctor here. There are options available for the doctor to approve
or disapprove each visit. The doctor may review the patient's profile and record of
appointment after approving the appointment. For the rest of the time, the doctor should keep
each patient healthy by providing appropriate treatment. The doctor may still be able to go to
the doctor's office after completing medical records. The doctor should choose the date,
amount, and dosage of the doctor's prescription, and choose the most readily available
medication.

1.3 OBJECTIVE
The hospital is an important part of our lives, providing the best medical care for its patients
various diseases, which may be due to climate change, increased work-load, emotional
trauma trauma etc. It is important for hospitals to keep track of their daily activities and
records of its patients, doctors and other staff who keep the hospital running well &
effectively. But tracking all their activities and records on paper is very difficult and
erroneous. And it does not work well and it is a time-consuming process the number of
people and the number of people visiting the hospital. Record and maintain all these records
very dishonest, ineffective and prone to mistakes. It also does not happen economically and
technically keep these records on paper. Therefore maintaining the operation of the hands
system as our foundation project. We have developed an automated version of the manual
system, called “HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM “.
The main objective of our project is to provide an unregistered hospital up to 90%. It also
aims to provide the least expensive reliable automation of existing systems. The system also
offers excellent security data at all levels of user system and provides solid and reliable
storage and backup resources.

1.4 SCOPE
The proposed software product is a Hospital Management System (HMS). The system will be
used at any hospital, clinic, treatment center or disease lab. Clinic, dispensary or pathology
for diagnosis information from patients and store that data for future use. Current operating
system is a paper-based program. It is not very fast and cannot provide updated patient lists
within the rationale Time frame. The purpose of this program is to reduce overtime payments

10
and increase the number of patients which can be treated accurately. The statements required
in both documents are also functional and non-functional.

2. PROBLEM STATEMENT
 Shortages of immediate resources:
Information is very difficult to obtain and to obtain certain information such as
Eg. To find out about patient history, the user has to go through various registers. This
leads to comfort and wasting time.
 Lack of immediate data retention:
Information made from various purchases takes time and effort to be stored in the right
place.
 Lack of immediate renewal:
Various changes in information such as patient details or child immunization details are
difficult to make as paperwork is involved.
 Error prone calculation:
Manual calculations are inaccurate and time consuming may result in inaccurate
information. An example is the calculation of a patient's debt based on various treatments.
 Preparation of accurate and prompt reports:
This becomes a daunting task as it is difficult to gather information from various registers

3. LITERATURE SURVRY

One of the major challenges facing hospital management systems regarding efficiency and
waiting times between different processes, departments and individuals. This paper highlights
such limitations of existing systems and proposes RFID (Radio Frequency ID) as well as a
wireless sensor, location and information management framework that assists in real-time
tracking hospital assets, staff and patients as they go through scheduled procedures as part of
daily hospital. Jobs. The program incorporates visual simulation and provides the ability to
analyze ongoing operations for improvement in order to achieve efficient process and service
standards.
Hospitals are complex organizations that, in addition to the technical assistance expected in
the context of treatment and prevention of health risks, also require good management
practices aimed at improving their efficiency in their core business. However, in terms of
management, recurring disputes arise involving technical and administrative areas.

12
4. EXISTING SYSTEM
4.1 INTRODUCTION
The procedure currently used by the system is that when a patient visits a hospital to get their
medication, the patient first purchases an identification card containing their name and other
necessary information and an identification number on the card. The patient then waits for the
card to be processed along with the doctor's diagnosis, a file cover containing the card with
the medication column. The doctor set the arrival date of the card in the waiting room. When
the files arrive, patients line up to see a doctor. In this current system, file cabinets are used to
file individual patient records. The system is too tedious to keep track of space occupied by
log files, slow record processing, and a chance to file timeouts waiting for registrars to
receive patient files.

3.2 EXISTING SYSTEM DRAWBACKS

1. The current manual system has a lot of paper work.
2. Manual record servicing is a time consuming job.
3. With increase in data, it will be hard to store and maintain the data.
4. It requires the large amounts of space in the office, which can be used for storing records of
previous details.
5. It will become a tough job and not easy to retrieve previous patient records.
6. Lack of security for records as anyone can tamper with the records.

13
3.3 NEED OF NEW SYSTEM
1. Reliability Issue: The current system is unreliable. It looks different in quality from one
month to the next. Sometimes it gives a good result, but sometimes it gives result is worse.
2. Accuracy problem: There are too many errors in the reports.
3. Timeliness problem: In the current system reports and output it is too late and often it
does not help because we are not on time.
4. Performance Problem: Outputs and reports often contain misleading information.
Customer information is sometimes invalid.
5. Economic Crisis: The current system is very expensive. We have to spend a lot of money
to keep the program going, but not get the results you want.
6. Competence Problem: The current system has a capacity problem as well. The staff of the
organization is very small and the work is very large. Few people you can't handle all the
work.

3.4 PROPOSED SYSTEM

1. Employee Information: The proposed new system maintains and maintains all staff
details.
2. Statistics: The proposed new system calculates salary and income tax automatic and very
fast and accurate.
3. Registers: There is no need to maintain and maintain a pay register and employee register
by hand. It remembers each record and we can find any related report employee and salary at
any time.
4. Speed: The proposed new system is 100% faster and more time-saving.
5. Staff: The proposed new system requires fewer staff. Little people can do it great deal.
6. Efficiency: The proposed new systems complete the work of multiple vendors a little time.
7. Past details: The proposed new plan contains details of every former doctor once patients
for future help.

6.2 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
6.3 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

7. TESTING
7.1 FUNCTIONAL TESTING
Functional testing provides systematic indications that tested tasks are available as
determined by business and technology requirements, system documentation, and user
manuals.
Functional assessment focuses on the following:
Valid Input: Specified categories of valid entries should be accepted.
Invalid Input: The specified categories for invalid input should be rejected.
Tasks: The specified tasks should be used.
Output: Specified categories of application results should be used.
Systems: interfacing systems or procedures must be invoked.

The design and preparation of performance appraisals focuses on special needs, tasks, or
special test cases. In addition, systematic inputs related to identifying the flow of Business
process; data fields, pre-defined processes, and sequential processes should be considered for
testing. Before the performance test is completed, additional tests are identified and
determined the effective value of the current test.
