DAY _9_

Topic: Diagram and Lay-out of the Components of Electronic Timing Circuits

Sub-topics: Schematic Diagram
Ladder Diagram
Block Diagram
Wiring Diagram
Date: March 23, 2022
Time 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

OBJECTIVES
The student is expected to:
 Understand the difference between schematics, wiring diagrams, and block diagrams, and how
each is used to describe circuit performance and function.
 Recognize common electrical component symbols and drawing conventions that describe
circuits.
 Appreciate how schematics can supply important information for troubleshooting electrical
circuits.

STRATEGIES
 Explain the common electrical diagrams, electrical component symbols, and drawing
conventions in clear and understandable manner.
 Inquiry based learning
 Pause procedure: Taking a break every 5 minutes so that student have time to discuss and ask
questions.
 Muddiest point: Asking the student to write down which point in the lesson is the least clear to
him.

SUMMARY REPORT
I began the tutorial by checking my student's prior knowledge of the topic via a pre-test. I explained the
intended learning outcomes that we needed to meet after the one-hour session. Following that, I began the
discussion with the most simple, which is discussing the definition of what is an electrical circuit diagrams and I
also give an overview about the different types of it. After that, I explained and discuss each type of electrical
circuit diagram and also explain it significance in the field of electrical and electronics technology. At the
halfway point of the class, I asked him a series of questions to see whether he understood what I was teaching
him. I also employed what we termed the pause procedure, in which I allowed him take a 5-minute break after
every 15 minutes of discussion and then let him ask me questions about anything he wanted to clarify. Finally,
I employed the muddiest point approach, in which he writes down whatever part of our discussion is the most
difficult for him to grasp. I make sure that the entire information regarding his lesson that I want him to know
is conveyed and absorbed. Following that, I allowed him sufficient time to complete his module on his own in
order to assess his learning. I verified his answers on his module the next day, and the most of them were
accurate. As a nutshell, I concluded that the targeted learning objectives were achieved and that the
techniques and strategies I employed were effective.

APPRAISAL OF STUDENT’S PROGRESS

The student will complete this form with the assistance from teaching intern to help provide appropriate
support through interview.

Start of the Lesson

My current understanding includes that some of the electrical circuit diagrams like the
schematic and block diagrams. Also, I have a prior knowledge about electrical or electronic
symbols because it was discussed to me on the first week of the tutorial session.

Midpoint of Lesson
New thing I have learnt includes the difference between schematic diagrams, wiring
diagrams, and block diagrams, and how each is used to describe circuit performance and
function. I learned that circuit diagrams allows engineers, designers, and technicians to
understand how the circuits that make up a device work, and how its components connect
with each other

End of Lesson
I am now confident that I can define and identify the different types of electrical circuit
diagrams and how each is used to describe circuit performance and function. I am also
confident that I can distinguish the difference between the types of electrical diagrams and
how every circuits that make up a device work, and how its components connect with each
other.

Teacher’s Assessment
Based on the one-hour that I spent with my student, I can conclude that he learned a lot
throughout our session. He can now explain the different types of electrical circuit diagrams
and how each is used to describe circuit performance and function. He can now distinguish
the difference between the types of electrical diagrams and how every circuits that make up
a device work, and how its components connect with each other.
